My life goals are to educate myself continuously with the ever changing field of health and body. I am the youngest of 15; 8 older brothers and 6 older sisters. However, education wasn’t the top priority for us growing up. We were to work hard and know how to make it through life based on hard work alone. A little family history in my family’s education is none of us kids graduated from high school and only one of my sisters went to college. So, I will be the first in my family to get a Doctorate degree.
A little background of myself:
I was injured young, which led me to my passion for Physical Therapy. With therapy, I was able to turn my life around and relearn how to use my body in a painless manner. That being said, I think I will be a great candidate because I will never stop learning. I will continue to exceed in my learnings, to be passionate about my grades, and I will keep striving for success even after I graduate.

My name is Hope Lamb. I was born and raised in a small town in Kentucky called New Concord. Along with my other siblings, I was born at home at an old rock quarry. Though I come from a small town, I have a huge family. I am the youngest of 15 kids (yes, same mom and dad). Being from such a large family, we were definitely brought up a little different from the normal family. I was homeschooled the majority of my childhood but did go to school at a later time. Having been brought up in such a structure, I was more about work than school. However, after dropping out of school in the 10th grade, I found myself wanting something more. As I was still figuring out life at the age of 16, I just didn’t know what yet. Fast forward a few years, at age 19, I fell down a flight of stairs. This is where my life turned around. I wound up in physical therapy for about 5 years on and off. Falling in love with this field, I started to see the accident as a blessing in disguise. After finding physical therapy, going through the rehab myself, and thus reaping the benefits, I felt a new kind of passion. This started me on the journey I am on today. In 2017, I started studying for my GED at Suncoast Technical College here in Sarasota, Florida. I earned my GED on August 1, 2017. Right after earning my GED, I started school at the State College of Florida - Manatee literally one week later. While working a full time job and also being a full time student, I am proud to say that I have earned not only my associates degrees, but also my bachelor degree. For my entire bachelor’s degree, I made straight A’s, graduating with honors. I was invited by the international association of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) for my outstanding GPA of 4.0 during my entire bachelor degree in Health Service Administration (BAS-HSA). Now, I have been accepted into my Doctorate program for Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine Health Sciences. A dream come true for my future. Finding a passion such as Physical Therapy, to reiterate, is a blessing in disguise for me. To be able to help people the way I was helped in my time of need is the best feeling in the world. To know where I was, the negatives I thought of getting better, and to be able to turn someone’s life around the way mine was is everything I need. This is what has driven me toward my goal and what still drives me forward.
