As a kid who grew up in the Bronx with a single mom, I've seen firsthand the resilience and strength it takes to navigate life's challenges. Raised by a mother who instilled in me the values of love, faith, and community service, I've always felt a deep sense of responsibility to make a positive impact on the world around me. One of my earliest inspirations comes from witnessing the daily struggles of my grandmother, who battles with a chronic illness. From juggling doctor appointments to managing medications, her life is a constant journey of uncertainty and stress. Seeing her resilience in the face of adversity sparked a fire within me to find ways to ease her burden and enhance her quality of life. Driven by my passion for technology and my desire to help those in need, I've set my sights on a career in computer science. I believe that technology has the power to transform lives, and I'm determined to harness that power for the betterment of my grandmother and others like her. My vision is to develop innovative solutions that cater specifically to the needs of individuals with chronic illnesses, using principles of love, faith, and community service as my guiding lights. One of my aspirations is to create AI healthcare tools that revolutionize how we monitor and manage health, particularly for individuals like my grandmother. I envision developing a personalized health monitoring system, comprising a user-friendly mobile app and a wearable device like a smartwatch or fitness tracker. This system would continuously track key health metrics and utilize AI algorithms to detect abnormal patterns and predict potential health issues before they escalate. By providing timely alerts to caregivers or family members, we can ensure prompt intervention and improved health outcomes for those we love. In addition to health monitoring, I'm passionate about simplifying medication management for individuals with chronic illnesses. Using my skills in computer science, I aim to develop a smart medication management system that automates reminders for medication doses, dispenses pills accurately, and generates personalized medication schedules using AI algorithms. This system would not only help my grandmother stay on track with her treatment plan but also provide peace of mind to my family, knowing that she's receiving the care she needs. Beyond health monitoring and medication management, I see endless opportunities to use technology to enhance overall well-being. Whether it's through virtual companions offering companionship and support or immersive VR experiences stimulating the mind and providing moments of joy and relaxation, I'm excited about the potential to make a difference in the lives of others. In everything I do, I'm guided by the principles of love, faith, and community service instilled in me by my upbringing.

Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges and difficulties my grandmother faced due to her chronic illness. Whether it's frequent doctor visits, managing multiple medications, or dealing with unexpected health issues, her daily life is often filled with uncertainty and stress. As her grandchild, I've always wanted to find a way to help alleviate some of her burdens and improve her quality of life. That's where my inspiration to pursue a career in computer science stems from. I've always been fascinated by technology and its potential to solve real-world problems. By combining my passion for coding with my desire to make a positive impact on my grandmother's life, I've set my sights on developing innovative solutions that cater specifically to her needs. One of my career aspirations is to create AI healthcare tools that revolutionize how we monitor and manage health, particularly for individuals like my grandmother. This system would continuously track key health metrics and utilize AI algorithms to detect abnormal patterns and predict potential health issues before they escalate. Doing so could provide timely alerts to caregivers or family members, ensuring prompt intervention and improved health outcomes. Furthermore, I'm passionate about leveraging technology to simplify medication management for individuals with chronic illnesses. Through my computer science skills, I aim to develop a smart medication management system that automates reminders for medication doses, dispenses pills accurately, and generates personalized medication schedules using AI algorithms. Beyond health monitoring and medication management, I'm also excited about the potential of technology to enhance overall well-being. The possibilities are endless, from virtual companions offering companionship and support to immersive VR experiences stimulating the mind and providing moments of joy and relaxation. As I continue my computer science journey, I'm committed to exploring these possibilities and developing innovative solutions that empower individuals like my grandmother to live fuller, healthier lives. My ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between technology and healthcare, making advanced tools and resources accessible to everyone, regardless of their age or health condition. By dedicating myself to this mission, I hope to honor my grandmother's resilience and inspire positive change in the lives of countless others facing similar challenges.

My education and career goals come from my passion for using technology to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. Witnessing my grandmother's struggle with a variety of illnesses, all stemming from her diabetes has instilled in me a passionate commitment to improving the lives of people with similar problems. I hope to use artificial intelligence by creating health monitoring systems and medication management algorithms. By pursuing this path, I hope to significantly enhance the quality of life for people like my grandmother, giving them innovative tools that improve their healthcare experiences. As a first-generation American, I've seen my single mother's sacrifices since moving here from the Dominican Republic searching for a better future for our family. Despite her limited English, she has worked tirelessly in low-paying jobs to provide for our family's needs, even helping our family back in the Dominican Republic. Her experience has given me an appreciation for hard work and the best way to make her proud is pursuing higher education. However, the financial pressure of supporting our family and the rest of the family in the Dominican Republic leaves little to no room for her to contribute to my college education. I understand that paying for college falls on my shoulders. Scholarships would ease the financial burden and allow me to focus more on my studies and work on my goal of helping my grandmother and other elderly like her. Moreover, my cultural background and familial experiences have shaped my perspective on the importance of education and community support. Growing up in a tight-knit immigrant community, I have witnessed the collective efforts of individuals coming together to uplift and support one another. This sense of solidarity and communal responsibility has highlighted the significance of giving back and making a positive impact within my community. With a computer science degree and specialized knowledge in healthcare technology, I aspire to not only improve the lives of my loved ones but also to contribute to the broader community by developing accessible and impactful solutions that address pressing healthcare challenges. By leveraging technology to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility and affordability, I aim to create a ripple effect of positive change that extends beyond the confines of my immediate surroundings, ultimately fostering healthier and more equitable communities. I am committed to leveraging my technical skills and cultural insights to bridge gaps in healthcare access and equity, ensuring that underserved communities receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
