Bio

French student from Brittany looking for my American dream. Passionate about interior design, I want to pursue my goal of becoming a graduate student from an American school to prove to my family in France that everything is possible if we have the courage and the will to succeed. I was a waitress for 5 years in France. I stopped school at the early age of 16 to provide for the financial needs of my family and myself at the same time. I thought that my life would stay as it was but at the age of 20, I asked myself "do you think that it's impossible to live your dream because you do not come from a rich family or don't have an excellent background to succeed?" Everything started to change after this question. I came to the United States as an au pair in 2019 without any goals because I thought that everything would be too expensive or too hard for me to achieve. I just wanted to come to the USA to discover the country and American life. Then I met some American friends that pushed me to believe in myself and they always said "if you have the courage and the perseverance to get there, you will get there. So, I changed my mind. I had my GED test in 2021 and applied to Harcum College to become an interior designer student. I have been accepted into a full-time program. I dedicate a lot of time and work to my goal to become graduating with a high grade. So far, I accumulated a 4.0 GPA for my first semester. I would love to pursue my education by applying for a bachelor's degree after my graduation from Harcum College to give me more opportunities to succeed.

    Bold Equality Scholarship
I think that, as a French woman living in the United States, I am an example of diversity in this country. This leads me to support diversity concerning foreign people living in another country, as well as gender equality which is well known not to be often respected about women. We live in a society where the younger generation is the one who will make its voice heard to make things happen for future generations. We live in a generation where there is still racism, sexism, and women's rights that are to be reviewed (such as the right to abortion which is a subject of discussion at the moment)... We can still see that the differences do not please. For this, I want to make my voice heard with perhaps the chance to make things happen thanks to the communities of (most of the time) young generations. I take care of children a lot, and I want to teach them that diversity is what makes a country rich and that difference is what makes us special. I would like to make the next generations understand that equality must be generalized.
    BJB Scholarship
I belong to several communities because of my situation. Currently studying in the United States, coming from a foreign country, I am part of the community of students in the field of interior design as well as the community of French people living in the USA. My interior design student community at Harcum College makes me happy and uplifts me in the sense that I don't feel alone. I know that me and my teammates are in the same boat and we have to help each other to succeed. If I ever have a problem for any reason (homework, transportation to school, understanding in class, stress from presentations...), I know that I can count on my teammates to help me and vise versa. Giving back to my community by helping my teammates allows me to build strong relationships with other students and provide me the feeling of having a second family. About my expatriate French community, it allows me to speak my native language, sharing our culture and above all it allows me not to forget where I come from. Like my previous community, it also allows me not to feel alone away from my family and having the necessary support to get the courage and perseverance to achieve my goals. Without these communities, my life at school and outside of school would be much more difficult and it shows that human relationships are very important to allow us to succeed even if success comes mainly from personal work. My vision for the future changed a lot since I am in the USA. I come from a family that does not have the financial resources necessary to allow me and my siblings to live our dreams. I left school at 16 to start working as a waitress to support my family. I really thought my life would be reduced to it and I would never be able to travel and live my dreams like my parents. But I proved myself wrong. After working 5 years as a waitress, I decided to do everything to give myself the opportunity to change my future and prove to my family that anything is possible if you have the will. I arrived as an au pair in a family in Pennsylvania. It is a cultural exchange that allowed me to discover American life and their culture but also to know myself better and know what I was capable of. The support I received from the American community made my outlook on life totally change as they always told me "believe in your dreams!". Now I believe in it, I am a student, a good student, I will do the job of my dreams while discovering what for me is the most beautiful country in the world. To conclude, my vision of life is really based on the mind and our way of reacting to life events. To be perceptive, proud to be, courageous, kind are my key words for my vision of life.
    Bold Legacy Scholarship
My contribution for the future of my children. That's what I think of when I use the term "legacy". I want to allow my children to be able to use what will remain of me in their everyday needs. Whether material such as money, real estate, or even business, but also the knowledge and notoriety that I would have acquired throughout my life whether in relation to my field of work or things of the daily. As far as my material heritage is concerned, I want to be able to work hard enough to allow them financial support that will contribute to their needs for a large part of their life, as well as real estate that will allow them financial income thanks to the fact that they are long-term investments. Regarding my heritage of memory, I would like to have been able to instill in them my values and principles of my life which allowed me to succeed in several areas, and which in turn will help them to follow the same path as me. So that's what I want to offer them as an inheritance. I want all the good things and my knowledge to be passed on to my next generation, which will allow my memory to live on and allow them to make certain things in their lives easier to manage.
