My family will tell you that I have always had a heart for serving others, calling me the "sunshine" of our large family. I always had a gift for noticing others and finding ways to validate them. As I learned more about myself and my strengths through leadership and service roles in school and outside of school, I realized that I can serve others and give back to my community using the business world. Starting our school's Community Service Day has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I loved learning how to execute an idea and make it the best I can. I enjoyed getting to provide an opportunity for my classmates to be able to serve outside of our school and light the fire of service in their hearts. My goal was to show my community that high school students care about service and are willing to help if given an opportunity. I believe it is my responsibility to not only serve others with my own time, but create opportunities for others to serve, with the goal of them teaching the people in their own lives how to serve others. This is my way of having a ripple effect for good in the world, multiplying and growing, changing those who are serving at the same time as changing the lives of those we serve. I know that the business world will provide the opportunities I am looking for to serve and love others well.
