My identity has been shaped by a mix of personal experiences, quiet struggles, and the desire to grow into someone I’m proud of. One of the biggest parts of that journey has been dealing with my mental health. It taught me things I couldn’t have learned any other way, like how to really see people, not just for who they appear to be, but for what they might be carrying underneath. It made me more empathetic, not just in a surface-level way, but in the kind of way that makes you slow down, listen better, and care more deeply. I’ve learned that a lot of people are just trying to hold it together. That realization changed how I move through the world. I try to lead with kindness, even when I’m struggling myself. I try to give people grace, because I know how much a small moment of understanding can mean when you’re going through something tough. Over time, I also stopped chasing perfection. I used to think I had to have it all figured out to be taken seriously as a person, as a creative, as someone trying to build a future. But life doesn’t work like that. I’ve learned that real growth is slow and messy and nonlinear. Sometimes it looks like falling apart and starting over. Sometimes it means showing up even when you’re not at your best. And weirdly enough, that’s where I’ve found the most meaning.

My experience with mental health has shaped me in profound and lasting ways. It didn’t just shift how I see myself—it reshaped how I view the world and its people. One of the most important things it taught me is empathy—not just the kind that listens with polite nods, but the kind that sits beside someone without needing to fix them, that recognizes pain behind a smile, and that stays present even when there are no easy answers. I came to understand that people carry invisible struggles, quiet battles that they often fight alone. That realization changed everything about how I approach relationships. I became more patient, more curious, and more open to vulnerability. I stopped expecting people to show up perfectly. I started valuing authenticity over appearances and connection over convenience. Belief-wise, I stopped romanticizing perfection. There was a time when I measured myself against unrealistic standards—thinking that success, worth, and happiness all came neatly packaged with flawless routines and polished lives. But mental health challenges shattered that illusion. In the aftermath, I began to see something far more meaningful: strength in honesty, even when it’s raw. Especially when it’s raw. I began to appreciate the kind of growth that doesn’t always look like progress—the slow, uncomfortable, sometimes backward kind that unfolds quietly and without applause. It's not the kind of transformation you post about. It's the kind that happens on the hard days when you choose to keep going anyway. This journey has also redefined my understanding of resilience. I used to think resilience was about toughness—about pushing through, showing no weakness, and staying strong no matter what. But now, I know it’s about adaptability. It’s about facing what hurts without pretending it doesn’t, allowing yourself to bend without breaking, and learning how to rest instead of quitting. It’s about holding space for your own emotions while also making space for others. Through this lens, I’ve come to see vulnerability not as a flaw, but as a bridge—something that connects us more deeply to ourselves and the people around us. Mental health has helped me understand my place in the world not as someone who needs to be perfect or have it all figured out, but as someone who is constantly learning, evolving, and unlearning. It’s shown me that being “okay” doesn’t mean struggling—it means building tools, cultivating self-awareness, and leaning into support when you need it. It means being honest with where you are and still believing in where you can go. Above all, this experience has taught me compassion—both for others and for myself. I’ve learned to meet people where they are and to honor where I am, even if it’s not where I want to be yet. I no longer see healing as a straight line or identity as something fixed. I see it all as a process—a becoming. And I’ve realized that there is something incredibly brave about simply showing up in the world as you are, even when it’s hard.

When I first started thinking seriously about my future, I asked myself one big question: What do I enjoy doing that could turn into a career I love? The answer kept pointing me in one direction, marketing. It’s a field that mixes creativity with strategy, and for someone like me, who’s always had a passion for drawing and visual storytelling, it just felt like the perfect fit. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a pencil or marker in my hand. Drawing has always been my way of expressing myself. Whether it’s sketching characters, designing cool layouts, or just doodling ideas on paper, I’ve found that my art grabs people’s attention. That little spark—the moment someone pauses and says, “Whoa, that’s cool!”—that’s what I live for. It wasn’t until later that I realized that the same skill is at the heart of good marketing: catching someone’s eye and making them feel something. Marketing gives me a space where my creativity can do something. It’s not just about making things look pretty, it’s about telling a story, building a brand, and connecting with people in a way that feels real. I love the idea of helping a small business stand out or being part of a team that launches a big campaign. And with the digital world constantly evolving, there’s always something new to learn and explore. Getting a degree in marketing is a big step for me—not just for my career, but for who I want to become. I know it’ll teach me how to take my ideas and turn them into actual results. I’ll learn how to analyze trends, understand what people want, and communicate in ways that leave an impact. On top of that, I’ll get to blend my artistic side with real business skills, which is honestly the best of both worlds. I also see marketing as a door to many different paths. Whether I decide to work for a company, help creative startups, or eventually build something of my own, this degree will give me a strong foundation. It’s not about following a strict path—it’s about having the tools to create my own. In the end, choosing marketing wasn’t just about picking a major—it was about choosing a future that excites me. A future where I can be creative, think strategically, and make a difference. With hard work, the right education, and a bit of imagination, I know I can turn my passion into something powerful.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs has serious consequences both for the individuals involved and society as a whole. DUI convictions often result in fines, license suspension, mandatory alcohol education programs, and even jail time. Repeated offenses can lead to more severe penalties, including felony charges. DUIs significantly increase the risk of accidents, injuries, and fatalities on the road. Impaired drivers have reduced reaction times and impaired judgment, making them more likely to cause accidents that can lead to severe injuries or death for themselves, passengers, or other road users. DUI convictions can lead to social stigma, damaged relationships, and difficulties in securing employment. Having a DUI on one's record can limit job prospects and affect professional opportunities, especially in careers that require driving or public trust. Public education campaigns can raise awareness about the dangers of DUI and the potential consequences. School programs, community events, and social media platforms can be utilized to educate people, particularly young adults, about responsible alcohol consumption and the importance of designated drivers. Strict law enforcement, including sobriety checkpoints and random breathalyzer tests, acts as a deterrent. Harsh penalties for DUI offenses, such as substantial fines, license suspension, mandatory alcohol education, and community service, can dissuade individuals from driving under the influence. Technological innovations like ridesharing apps provide convenient, affordable alternatives to driving after consuming alcohol. Additionally, the development of in-car breathalyzer ignition interlock systems ensures that individuals with DUI convictions cannot start their vehicles if they have alcohol in their system. Communities can establish programs that offer safe rides home for individuals who have been drinking. Local businesses and community organizations can collaborate to provide discounted or free transportation options, encouraging people to make responsible choices. Encouraging personal responsibility and bystander intervention can play a significant role. Friends and family members can prevent loved ones from driving under the influence by taking away their keys, arranging alternative transportation, or offering a place to stay. By combining these strategies, communities can work towards reducing the incidence of DUIs, creating safer roads and promoting responsible alcohol consumption habits. Education, awareness, strict enforcement, and community support are essential components of comprehensive efforts to prevent DUIs and their devastating consequences.
