When I first applied to Marymount and all the other schools, I was going as a Political Science Major. I really thought that's what I wanted to do. Also having that pressure of being the first one in my family to go off to college, I felt as if that's what I had to do. But deep down, politics wasn't something I wanted to do. And throughout my first semester in Marymount I hated it. I hated everything about that, so I dropped those classes almost immediately. If I'm being honest, I hated college so much I was planning on dropping out. I had so much guilt and pressure after dropping that class, but in the end I don't regret it. Now that I finally decided what I wanted to do, so many obstacles came my way. As the regulations for the fashion program have changed, I'm extremely behind in my major and potentially have a delayed graduation. And it makes me feel hopeless, due not having the financial needs, but this is my dream. To become someone who creates clothes and empowers so many people by doing that. I still have so many doubts and worries, but in the end I believe it will be all worth it.
