Bio

I am a compassionate and determined young woman in STEM, committed to using science to improve lives. Currently a senior at Lakeridge High School, I will be attending the University of Oregon to study Biomedical Engineering, with a focus on understanding and addressing genetic disorders and birth defects. I believe that deeper knowledge leads to better outcomes and that every child deserves the chance to thrive. As Captain of my FIRST Robotics team, I’ve had the privilege of creating and leading outreach programs that serve communities locally and globally. These include STAT, supporting survivors of human trafficking; TUG, empowering youth to grow sustainable gardens; and All STEAM Abroad, bringing STEM education to underserved communities worldwide. Together, these programs have reached thousands of people experiencing hunger, instability, and limited educational access. I’m proud of the difference I’ve made so far, and I’m excited to continue that work through biomedical engineering, especially by helping the tiniest and most vulnerable among us.

My commitment to standing with others comes from knowing what it feels like to be unseen. Growing up with chronic illness, I spent years moving through the world quietly, carrying burdens no one could see. That experience didn’t close me off, it opened me. It taught me that so many people carry invisible weight, and that dignity, compassion, and belonging are not luxuries; they are necessities. This belief guides everything I build. As Captain of Lake Monsters Robotics, I turned my challenges into community action. I helped create STAT (Student Tech Against Trafficking) to support survivors of human trafficking through technical training, and I am now working with my co‑lead and MIT to develop a tracking button that can help authorities locate and protect survivors. I founded Suit Up so children entering foster care never have to carry their lives in a plastic bag. Each suitcase includes blankets, toys, hygiene kits, and make‑and‑take STEM activities. These STEM kits are now used by the Lake Oswego and West Linn Police Departments to comfort children experiencing trauma. To address food insecurity and expand access to STEM, I created Tech Unity Garden (TUG) and launched All STEAM Abroad, bringing STEM opportunities to underserved communities in China, Korea, Japan, India, Jordan, and Taiwan. As Captain, I lead with empathy. I remind my team that robotics is not just engineering, it is humanity. Through POWR Children’s Hospital Outreach, I give back to the hospital that has cared for me my entire life. Across four years, the programs I’ve built have reached thousands. Through this work, I’ve learned that solidarity is not only advocacy; it is the quiet, consistent acts of care that remind people they are not alone. My global engagement has shown me that inclusive solutions begin with listening and the willingness to see through someone else’s eyes. At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and empowered. I hope to continue this work by studying Biomedical Engineering. I want to ensure that no one has to face the barriers that I have had to overcome. I hope to join medical professionals in researching and discovering ways to eliminate and mitigate the impact of genetic disorders and birth defects. In short, I want to help our most vulnerable citizens, babies. My hope and goal are to make sure that every child has the ability to grow up into a happy, healthy individual.
