My career goal is to become a professional pilot and build a career in aviation where I can lead, travel, and inspire others. Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by airplanes and the idea of flying. Watching planes in the sky made me curious about the world beyond my surroundings and motivated me to dream bigger for my future. That passion has turned into a clear goal that I am determined to achieve. This upcoming fall, I will be attending Delaware State University and majoring in Professional Pilot. I chose this path because aviation represents discipline, responsibility, and confidence—qualities I value deeply. Becoming a pilot is not only about learning how to fly an aircraft, but also about developing leadership skills, staying calm under pressure, and making decisions that affect the safety of others. Pilots must be prepared, focused, and dependable at all times. I want to be someone people can trust and depend on, both in my career and everyday life. As an older sister, I learned responsibility early, and that has shaped the way I approach my goals. I have always tried to be a positive example for those around me by showing leadership, patience, and determination. I also spent two years volunteering at a daycare, helping younger children with their homework and supporting them however I could. Working with children taught me the importance of encouragement and how much of a difference small acts of kindness can make in someone’s life. These experiences helped me understand that leadership is not about being in charge, but about helping others grow and succeed. I want my future career to reflect those same values. In aviation, I hope to not only succeed professionally but also inspire younger students, especially young women, to believe they can pursue careers in fields where they may not always see themselves represented. Representation matters, and I want others to know they can achieve their dreams no matter where they come from. I want to show that hard work, confidence, and persistence can open doors that once seemed impossible. This scholarship would help me move closer to my career goals by easing the financial stress that comes with college and flight training. Aviation is one of the most rewarding careers, but it is also one of the most expensive paths to pursue. The cost of tuition, books, supplies, flight hours, certifications, and training fees can quickly become overwhelming. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to focus more on my education and flight training instead of worrying constantly about financial obstacles. It would also give me the opportunity to take full advantage of college, including internships, networking opportunities, leadership programs, and hands-on flight experience. These opportunities are important because they help students grow academically and professionally. I want to fully invest myself in becoming the best pilot and leader I can be. More than financial support, this scholarship would be an investment in my future. It would remind me that others believe in my potential and are willing to support my journey. That encouragement would motivate me to work even harder and remain committed to my dream. My goal is not only to become a pilot, but also to use my success to inspire others and make a positive impact in my community. I want to prove that with determination, discipline, and support, it is possible to rise above challenges and achieve great things. This scholarship would be an important step in helping me reach that future.

Flying and aviation have had a powerful impact on my life by teaching me discipline, confidence, and the importance of dreaming beyond my current circumstances. Aviation represents more than just airplanes in the sky to me, it symbolizes freedom, opportunity, and the ability to rise above challenges. Growing up, I was always fascinated by airplanes. Every time I saw one flying overhead, I would stop and watch until it disappeared. I often wondered where the people on board were going and what it felt like to be in control of something so powerful. That curiosity turned into inspiration. Aviation showed me that there is a world much bigger than the one I see every day, and it made me realize that my goals do not have to be limited by where I come from. As a student balancing high school and technical training, I have learned the value of hard work and responsibility. Being an older sister has also shaped me into someone who naturally takes leadership seriously. I understand the importance of setting a good example and helping others when they need support. In many ways, aviation reflects those same values. Pilots must stay focused, make smart decisions under pressure, and always be prepared. Seeing that has motivated me to apply those same habits in my own life. Flying has also inspired my confidence. Aviation requires courage, the courage to trust yourself, to keep learning, and to move forward even when things feel uncertain. That lesson applies to life outside of flying as well. Whether I am helping younger kids with homework through volunteering, balancing school and career preparation, or planning for my future, I remind myself that growth requires stepping outside of my comfort zone. Just like a plane cannot take off without leaving the ground, I cannot reach my full potential without taking risks. This passion for aviation has shaped my future goals as well. This upcoming fall, I will be attending Delaware State University, where I will be majoring in Professional Pilot. Choosing this path is a reflection of how deeply aviation has inspired me. I want to challenge myself academically and personally while preparing for a career that allows me to lead, travel, and make a difference. Becoming a pilot is not just a dream for me, it is a goal I am committed to achieving. Another way aviation has impacted me is by showing me the importance of service and connection. Air travel brings people together, connects families, and creates opportunities across the world. It reminds me that success is not only about personal achievement but also about how we help others along the way. That idea connects with how I want to live my life, by making a positive difference in my community and supporting those around me. In the future, I hope to continue using the lessons aviation has taught me: discipline, leadership, courage, and service. Flying has taught me to think bigger, work harder, and believe that I am capable of reaching new heights. Aviation has impacted my life because it has shown me that the sky is not the limit, it is only the beginning.

Making an impact means helping others feel supported, seen, and encouraged. I have always believed that leadership is not about attention or recognition, but about being someone others can depend on. Through my experiences in school, sports, and my community, I have learned that small acts of kindness and support can leave a lasting impact on someone’s life. One time I went above and beyond in my school community was by helping one of my wrestling teammates who wanted to quit. As a female wrestler, she felt overwhelmed and discouraged, especially because she had to wrestle boys and often felt like she did not belong. I understood how she felt because I had once been in that same position. Instead of letting her quit, I sat down with her and listened. I let her explain how frustrated and exhausted she felt. I shared my own experiences and reminded her that struggling at first did not mean she was not strong enough to continue. I explained that hard moments are often the ones that help us grow the most. After that conversation, I helped her more during practice by showing her techniques, encouraging her to stay focused, and reminding her of how much progress she had already made. Over time, her confidence grew, and she decided to stay on the team. Watching her continue instead of giving up reminded me how powerful support can be. I have also volunteered at a daycare for two years, helping little kids with their homework and daily activities. This experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how important encouragement can be in helping children feel confident. Working with younger kids showed me that sometimes the smallest support can make the biggest difference in someone’s growth. I have also made an impact by helping new students feel welcomed at Delaware County Technical School. I attend the Aston building, where there are not many students of color. When I first started, I was bullied and often felt like I did not belong because I was the only Black student in my class. That experience taught me the importance of inclusion and kindness. Because of that experience, I make it a priority to help students who may feel the same way. Whenever I notice someone new who seems nervous, quiet, or out of place, I make sure to speak to them, include them, and help them feel comfortable. I know how much of a difference one kind person can make. As the student council president at Delaware County Technical School, I have also been able to make an impact by representing students and helping improve the school community. This leadership role has taught me that true leadership is about service, listening to others, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued. Although I did not know Ethan personally, his story inspires me. It reminds me that true impact comes from kindness, leadership, and the way we treat others every day. I want to be remembered as someone who uplifted others and helped people believe in themselves. In the future, I plan to continue making an impact through leadership, volunteering, sports, and simply being there for others when they need encouragement. Receiving this scholarship would help me continue my education and support my goal of majoring in aviation while allowing me to keep making a positive difference in my community.
