Hi! My name is Haven Fields, and I'm from Houston, Texas. I'm a first-generation college student studying Psychology and Neuroscience. I come from a strict and harsh upbringing, but I am trying not to let the circumstances of my childhood define my being or my future. Growing up in a broken home, I struggled with the idea and concept of family. Things that mattered to me during my childhood, such as those 'Invite Your Parents' events that my elementary/middle school would host, were often skipped or downright avoided. As I grew up, I began losing myself, struggling to hold on to any sense of self. The world started losing its shine and color, and I faded into black and white. Eventually, I was hospitalized when a massive depressive episode had me contemplating unsavory ideas regarding the existence of my life. It felt like drowning, and I would never wish that feeling on anyone in this world. I managed to find a way back to the surface, and I'm grateful for that. I've learned so much about myself, about others, and about the beauty that surrounds us within this world. It was through this that my interest in neurosciences was born. Although my main career focus in Psychology, I also want to study law and communication. I one day want to offer services and support to individuals who need the extra help and shoulder to lean on should they need it when the going gets tough. I want to give people the support they need because it's the small things like acknowledging one another that can bring out the greatness in us all. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile!
