Fortunately, I grew up surrounded by it: my father held a senior role as a reservoir engineer in an oil major, while my mother, a Prosthodontist (Dentist), ran her own practice. These influences shaped my perspective, leading me to see science and technology as powerful tools for creating impactful change. During high school, my involvement in clubs and competitions allowed me to apply mathematical and physics principles I learned in advanced math and science classes to practical projects. In Science Olympiad, I designed two catapults powered by elastic tension and air pressure, and a miniature bridge that held weight through architectural design. Through utilizing my knowledge and perseverance, I won regional and state medals. Eager to improve my engineering skills, I joined the FRC Robotics team, where I would CAD design, program, and fabricate parts for a team robot. This experience taught me precise utilization of power tools, an introduction to 3D modeling, an introduction to a practical implementation of programming, and a platform to collaborate with others. Receiving the William A. Stuart Scholarship would be a pivotal moment in my engineering college journey.
