I left college in the summer of 2019 to figure out the direction I wanted to take in life. Flash forward two years and I have returned to Anne Arundel Community College in order to receive an associates degree in Computer Information Services.
I have always loved technology, In my family I've always been the person that gets asked for help when a device is on the fritz. I am so excited to learn more about tech in an official/professional capacity and am hoping to find a fulfilling career in the realm of database administration and data analysis.

I firmly believe that the further development of MRNA technology will be the industrial revolution for health care. The ability to sequence the genome of a virus within 2 weeks of identifying the virus itself is complete overhaul in Turn-around time. It's true that the Covid-19 pandemic has been a more pressing concern than illnesses of the past, but within 1 year a vaccine was designed, tested, and designated for public use, a process that usually takes 10-15 years.
With the promising Lupus vaccine from Yale University, I think humanity can conclusively say that we now have the ability to inoculate people from a number of previously difficult to manage diseases.
Early data is also showing promising results for the use of MRNA technology in fighting tumors.
Furthermore, MRNA is just the first major innovation in genetic science & healthcare. Imagine a world where physical conditions such as cystic fibrosis & sickle cell anemia are simply removed from the DNA of the sufferer. A timeline where the effects of mental & social ailments like Alzheimer's and dementia can be reversed, never to be seen again.
A world where humans use the massive intellect at their disposal to heal the species and world around them. A world where scientific developments are seen as a power for good and not a tool of fear. Now that is a world I would like to live in.
