Hello, my name is Harlene Dorvil, I am currently in school studying dental hygiene. I want to work in a profession where I not only get to make a difference in people's lives through my work but where I also get the opportunity to directly influence and educate people about healthier oral care. I find being a dental hygienist both interesting and stimulating. The goal of becoming a dental hygienist is one that I've been working towards for several years now it is a field in that minorities are heavily underrepresented, and I would love to change that statistic.At first, my god father inspired me when he was attending my family. In this case, after every six months, we would visit his clinic, examine us, and then recommend appropriate measures of countering oral diseases. In addition, he would clean our teeth. This has made me to like the career. Therefore, this inspiration has made me pursue a career in dental hygiene. Over the years I have gotten to know myself well in terms of my strength and weakness and how I perform in certain situations. The skills and qualities I possess I believe will help me during my time in dental hygiene school. I am a strong organizer and planner. My time management skills are exceptional. This means I will always dedicate the right amount of time to learning and studying. Finally, I am resilient, flexible, and adaptable. All of these skills and qualities will make me an exceptional future dental hygienist.
