As a child, I generally love science, on the grounds that it was unique concerning the wide range of various subjects. It also furnished me a great deal of response to life, similar to how plants get food, and how the human body functions. Which kept more inquisitive about how living things work, and how it has life. As I went into high school and joined an academy called the Bioscience and medicine academy, it humbled me how the medical field. It isn’t easy as TV might make it look to appear, it’s a lot of time of studying, and researching, which I believe I’m ready for . The kind of doctor that I hope to be is a neurologist or a neurosurgeon because I love the complicity of the brain. I also want to be part of research that could help cure Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is a disease that causes memory loss and a lack of mental function and parkinson is a disorder in the central nervous system that causes tremors. If you don’t know what tremors are, tremors are a lack of muscle movement which causes you to shake , when doing fundamental tasks. I had also known a coworker who had struggled with a lot of neurological pain that some doctors didn’t understand, and I want to change that. Which made me feel bad that an elderly person has to live in pain because no one knows what’s going on neurological. I also believe it's because of youth injury, and misuse that he went through. I realize that some injuries could assume a part in some psychological wellness which could cause an infection in the mind. Ideally, when I start my undergraduate studies, I desire to be included in an examination and lab that will help me discover a remedy for parkinson, and Alzheimer’s. I trust this will change the clinical world, and who's struggling with this sickness. This would make a huge impact in the neuroscience world , and will show the world of black excellence. Since we don’t have much representation of black people in the medical field . I hope to make a change for the whole African American community .

Going to a majority white elementary and middle school wasn’t fun, especially when you're of a different background.. Since making friends wasn’t easy, I used to always escape to my imagination. I spent years thinking about how different my life would be since I grew up in a place where people are just like me. As I went into middle school, there were a lot of people of color or any diversity . Which made me go through an identity crisis , because I didn't really know how to fit into these groups . This was a period where I started to realize how different I am , and how much I stand out in these populations . I used to straighten my hair just to blend with the rest of the population. Thinking my reality would get better , knowing people will still see you for your skin color , and not what you do with your hair. High school was the period that led me to a lot of curiosity , and questioning about my identity . One of my favorite things was that there was a multicultural club for people of different cultures. This made me feel less alone and less different since I haven't been around people who were alike or different. Another thing about high school I love is a club called the African American women's club. This club wasn’t just designated for African Americans, it was for different black women from different ethical backgrounds. It might not sound like a big deal, but it means a lot to me, to being around those who were just exactly like me. This place was just a safe place to talk, and have a role model, who knows what it feels like to black in America. She was also a good teacher/mentor ,and taught that in certain situations it’s beyond our control . For example some people will see you for your skin and not for who you’re. Which in a lot of cases is the truth , especially out in the real world there’s a lot of bias toward people of color , due to stereotypes .We shouldn't have to detratie ourselves from that , or think that we are not good enough. Whenever I'm in a situation like these I will just remember what my teacher says , and say it’s beyond my control , and work to work harder. With the all the hardship that i encounter through life , im going to take that perseverance , and put into medicine. So i can be a role model to younger black african america . To show just because you go through despair in life , some good will come out of it .
