Growing up, I could vividly remember the sighs of those around me as a new pimple formed on their face. I watched silently as their confidence and self-esteem plummeted due to their outward appearance. I knew there was something I could do. I’d spend my downtime watching videos of dermatologists transforming lives and felt a spark of aspiration ignite inside me. My name is Hannah Roberts, a high school senior with a steadfast ambition to travel the world and serve my community as a Dermatologist. As I prepare to attend Texas A&M- Corpus Christi, I am determined to make good use of my excelling math and science skills. I educate myself on different medical conditions by reading research papers recorded by professional doctors. I have seen the hardships of the less fortunate firsthand. Throughout my high school years, I have served others, something I always found joy in. During a recent mission trip to Arizona, I had the privilege of working with youth in the Navajo and Hopi Nations. During the week, I befriended a few local children and learned that a majority of the families on the reservation lacked basic medical care. This news was eye-opening. I was struck by the sheer dissimilarity between the quality of health care I take for granted and the tribulations these communities face. This encounter further deepened my resolve to tackle healthcare discrepancies. It motivated me to pursue a profession as a Travel Dermatologist to reach and serve those in need and promote efficient public health safety around the globe. My exploration into numerous skin conditions and discussions with medical professionals have intensified my commitment to dermatology. I have enthusiastically studied a vast assortment of dermatological concerns, from common upsets like acne and eczema to more complex afflictions such as Melanoma and Chromhidrosis, and I am eager to apply my knowledge and expertise to enhance skin health worldwide and make a positive impact through my work. I envision equipping high-quality healthcare services that address temporary medical necessities and contribute to the permanent welfare and assurance of individuals. Receiving this scholarship would provide me with the resources and the reinforcement needed to turn my passion for assisting and aiding others into a fulfilling, lifelong career. It would permit me to fully devote myself to my medical education and future pursuits as a travel dermatologist, ensuring I can implement quality care for those who need it most. I want to make sure they gain the confidence that was taken from them and enhance their natural features. This opportunity would significantly advance my studies and qualify me to make significant strides in global health initiatives and have a lifelong impression on the lives of the underprivileged.
