My name is Hannah Hope O’Briant, and I’m a 16-year-old filmmaker and professional lighting designer based in Burbank, California. I am passionate about amplifying the voices of those whose stories are often not heard, a mission that drives both my creative work and my advocacy. I have directed two music videos for my sister, actress and recording artist Lily Brooks O’Briant, and created the award-winning short documentary Silent Suffering: How Endometriosis Affects Teens. As a teen ambassador for the Endometriosis Foundation of America, I bring personal insight and empathy to my storytelling. My latest project, The Pink Skirt, marks my narrative directorial debut and my first original screenplay, showcasing my emerging voice as a filmmaker. In addition to filmmaking, I work professionally as a lighting designer and have designed for numerous productions. My dedication to technical theatre has been recognized through several honors, including the Rookie of the Year Award (2024) and the Director’s Award (2025) for technical theatre, as well as the Adjudicator’s Award (2024) from the California Educational Theatre Association. My documentary Silent Suffering earned the High School Excellence Award at the Catalina Film Festival and was an official selection at the All American High School Film Festival.
