Winner“You should come up with a theme for your art portfolio,” my art teacher suggested.
A theme? I ask myself. I felt stuck. I have considered numerous ideas, yet, I could not find one that truly spoke to me. After thorough reflection, I discovered a theme that deeply resonated with me: the search for my destiny caught up in life’s uncertainties. I began exploring the universal yearning for simplicity, where desperation for answers intensifies during times of chaos. This creative process allowed me to realize that art is not just a form of expression, but also a way to serve others.
In today’s fast-paced society, a well-formed design is crucial to communicate, connect, and educate information quickly across cultures, languages, and boundaries. I strive to pursue a career as a UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) designer, creating visually compelling, friendly, and accessible digital experiences. To achieve this goal, I plan to establish a strong foundation in visual communication, problem-solving skills, and design fundamentals in art school. In addition, I will continue to use social media to speak across communities through my artworks centered around the idea of finding simplicity within chaos, and the reassurance that comes from trusting the process, even when the path is unclear.
Moreover, interdisciplinary collaboration with students from various fields, such as computer science, marketing, and psychology, will offer insight into the practicalities of being a UI/UX designer. These experiences will train me with the skills necessary to design products, websites, and apps that prioritize simplicity while addressing people’s needs, ensuring growth and connection among communities. Through collaborations, not only does the quality of each design project improve, but meaningful relationships are also formed in the process.
Design conveys meaning in ways that words cannot; it is a universal language that unites the world, despite everyone’s differences and the frequent complications we face. Through my art, I aim to help people navigate the world a little more easily, allowing them to feel understood.
