Bio

Hi, my name is Haley Hill! I am currently a senior at Louisville High. I am in Beta club, HOSA, and I am the treasurer in FCCLA. My goal is to go to the University of West Alabama for nursing and after that, working as a Registered Nurse to gain experience, to then apply to CRNA School to get my doctorate to become a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. One of things that motivates me to do my best, and achieve this goal is my family. My family has always been there to support me, which is something that keeps me going. As someone from a single parent household, I know the importance of financial responsibility. I have seen my mother work very hard to give my siblings and I the life that she thinks we deserve. As mentioned before, I would like to become a certified nurse anesthetist. That dream is now so close, but I know that I need to help her. I want to finish college with the least amount of debt that I can. I have wanted to attend college for as long as I could remember. I understand the importance of receiving a scholarship to help my mom ensure that I can achieve this dream. I have observed the importance of financial responsibility growing up and would really like to be. My mom has worked hard to ensure that I have the opportunities I needed to prepare me for college. I know that she will do all that she can to help me achieve my goal. This scholarship will assist me in attending college and alleviating the cost of my education. Thank you for your time and consideration.

As someone from a single parent household, I know the importance of financial responsibility. I have seen my mother work very hard to give my siblings and I the life that she thinks we deserve. I would like to become a certified nurse anesthetist. That dream is now so close, but I know that I need to help her. I would like to be the recipient of this scholarship because it would help me achieve my dream of being a nurse. I also want to finish college with the least amount of debt that I can. I have wanted to attend college for as long as I could remember. I understand the importance of receiving a scholarship to help my mom ensure that I can achieve this dream. I have observed the importance of financial responsibility growing up and would really like to be. My mom is one of the strongest people I know. She has instilled in me a strong work ethic through the example that she has set for me all of my life. Now that I am older, I understand how difficult it must have been to be a single parent, and although my mother struggled, she never let that struggle stop her from being the best parent she could be to us. That love that she showed to us instilled in me my faith and a desire to help people. These are some of the reasons I would like to become a nurse. The Bible states in Matthew 22:37 “ You must love your neighbor as yourself. “I have a strong desire to show love to my neighbors by helping them in the nursing field. Proper health is so important especially in marginalized communities such as mine, the African American community. I would really like to be actively involved in improving the health of my neighbors. Growing up I remember my God-mother attending the University of West Alabama. She blossomed at this University. Each year she is always returning for Homecoming and other events. She returned for her Master’s degree as well. I always wondered what it was that kept drawing her back even after 20 years. I did not understand what it was until I visited the campus. I toured the campus and fell in love with the beauty for myself. I want to be able to attend this wonderful university. Attending UWA and receiving my nursing degree will further bond my God-mother and me. I want to also be an alumnus of this university and be drawn to this place 20 years later. I have been very actively involved in organizations at my middle and high schools. I served as president of my Beta Club in middle school and continued to be an active member throughout high school as well. I have also been involved in leadership organizations. We recently won our state competition and are heading to nationals in June. I have been involved in a coding competition where we have also placed nationally. My mom has worked hard to ensure that I have the opportunities I needed to prepare me for college. I know that she will do all that she can to help me achieve my goal. This scholarship will assist me in attending college and alleviating the cost of my education. Thank you for your time and consideration.
