As a single mother of 3 boys under the age of 6, I’ve had my share of days I just felt like throwing in the towel. I thought going to trade school fresh out of high school would set me for life, until COVID hit. February of 2020 came with a newborn baby and loss of employment. After two years of battling homelessness, I’ve finally swallowed the pill; Esthetician jobs are not going to be in high demand for awhile. I took the first step in furthering my career, after my own personal experiences with addiction, and I decided to become a substance abuse practitioner. Earning my bachelors in science in criminal justice means the world to my family. Giving back to my community and helping other addicts means the world to me. I plan on opening residential treatment centers for both men and women in the future.
