Do you trust yourself? Can you pre-plan your actions for things to go your way? Do you have enough faith in yourself to believe that everything you are doing is for the better? Or do you think events happen for a reason, that there is a higher power out there who already planned your life before birth and perfectly sculpted who you are? I do not trust myself as I am an imperfect human being who can live up to the phrase “human error.” I am confident to say that I do not know everything, and I am very sure that no one else in this world knows everything. Therefore, I trust in the One with infinite knowledge, the One who died for our transgressions, the Creator of heaven and earth—Jesus Christ. "Whenever our heart condemns us, for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything" (1 John 3:20 CSB.) I am a firm believer in Christ, but I am also a lover of science, and both concepts could complement each other. As a pre-PA student, I have taken a lot of science courses to further my knowledge of the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical, social, and natural world through observation and experimentation, and I have noticed how similar science concepts are to events that happened in the Bible. As an example, God is the creator of the world who spoke things into existence, hence the verse “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3-25). Accordingly, science claims that the Earth was formed through a mixture of dust and gas around the sun with the sun being the light source for planet Earth. In both cases, the first matter that was formed into existence was light. Though science intrigues and fascinates me as there is much to learn about the physical world, it will not take the place of my belief in God. Unlike the Bible where there is one explanation as to how things are created, science created many theories that could best explain different phenomena, but there is no pinpoint evidence. God’s existence is recorded in the Bible and confirmed by many witnesses through eyewitness testimonies. In fact, the Bible was formed by the writings of forty-four different people who all wrote about the same concepts of God though they were living in different countries. As God’s existence was confirmed, there should not be competing ideas as to how the earth was formed other than the fact that God is the creator. However, science explains the formation of the earth with the Big Bang Theory, the dust and gas theory, and many more if one does a good Google search. God is not made from theories, and there are too many personal testimonies to go against God’s existence. Therefore, I am certain of my belief in God.
