Hello, My name is Hadia Afzaal. I am a senior at the Academy of Science and Innovation, in New Britain, Connecticut. I am a passionate student with excellent academic standing and my main focus is to help better my community. I have tried my best to do this by so far: speaking at multiple Press Conferences in the state of Connecticut advocating for Green energy and environmental education, taking part in a peaceful protest against a fossil fuel power plant, taking part in a play that raised awareness about homeless youth, and providing childcare for single mothers. My main passion is helping those around me and becoming a better person each step of the way. My passions include anything that allows the world to become a better place. I love public speaking, the arts, and volunteer work. My main dream is to become a nurse anesthesiologist, so that I may take this degree and help low-income hospitals and families get the healthcare they need in emergency situations. I would like for everyone to have affordable and efficient healthcare. I personally am a first-generation immigrant from Pakistan where every day was lived in fear of terrorist attacks. I came to the United States at the age of four and learned a new language and culture in a year. Ever since I was granted the opportunity to study in the United States, I have worked tirelessly to make myself both a good student and a selfless worker. I have discovered that the world is full of amazing opportunities, and I would love to take part in whatever comes next. Thank you.
