I am a dedicated student at Star Valley High School with aspirations of earning a master’s degree in the future. My journey began in Ethiopia, where I spent the first five years of my life before transitioning to life in America. Adapting to a new climate, language, and culture presented immense challenges, but these experiences shaped my resilience and determination. In school, I have excelled both academically and athletically. I’ve maintained a 3.9 GPA, ranked in the top 30 of my graduating class, and achieved a 26 on the ACT. Beyond academics, I have made significant strides in sports, becoming a two-time state champion in cross-country, a state champion in track for both the mile and two-mile events, and earning recognition as the Gatorade State Player of the Year. Overcoming the difficulties of my early years, I have worked tirelessly to catch up to and even surpass expectations. Each adversity I faced has fueled my drive to succeed, and I take great pride in the person I’ve become today. My experiences have taught me perseverance and shaped my belief that with hard work, anything is possible.
