My name is Guy Swenson and I am a Senior here at Hayward High School. I am so honored to be considered for a scholarship. I believe that my qualities of being honest, hardworking, trustworthy, and caring are good characteristics receiving a scholarship. I have an 3.423 grade point average. Getting good grades are a result of how I organize my time to get homework done and how much effort I put in all my school work. This year, I took mainly shop classes (construction & auto) to help with my further education in the Electrical Power Distribution program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Also by taking all the necessary construction classes this year, I was able to receive a technical diploma for Construction Essentials from Northwood Technical College. Aside from my academic grades being good, I am also a member of the varsity hockey and golf team. Being involved in sports has improved my sportsmanship and leadership skills. As Captain of the hockey team this year, I demonstrated to my coaches and teammates my leadership skills and I used them to benefit all around me. Because of my academic ability, leadership skills, and good character qualities, I believe that I am a good candidate. I hope you will consider me.
