Bio

Hi! I’m a bilingual student who grew up in Tequisquiapan, Mexico and later moved to the United States, an experience that deeply shaped who I am today. Adapting to a new language, culture, and school system taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of creating spaces where others feel seen and supported. Carrying both Mexican and American perspectives has given me a strong sense of identity and a desire to build bridges across communities. I’m passionate about learning and challenging myself academically, especially in areas that combine analytical thinking with real-world impact. Through an unpaid accounting internship and coursework in accounts payable management, I’ve gained hands-on experience with financial organization, responsibility, and problem-solving. I value leadership that centers listening and service, which is reflected in my involvement in student council, school fundraising events, community service projects, and initiatives like blanket and school supply drives for families in need. Outside of academics, I love reading, music, baking, and exploring new places, whether close to home or far away. I believe growth comes from curiosity, kindness, and perseverance, and I hope to use my education to contribute meaningfully to my community while uplifting others along the way.

The first time I realized accounting could be a tool for impact was not in a classroom, but while reviewing invoices during my accounting internship. I was cross-checking expense reports for employees when I noticed how easily a small error could ripple into bigger consequences. A missed payment could strain a client relationship. A misreported expense could affect trust. In that moment, accounting stopped feeling like numbers on a page and started feeling like a responsibility. I saw how accuracy, ethics, and care directly shape how businesses function and how people are treated within them. That experience shaped how I envision using my accounting education in the business world. To me, accounting is not just about balancing books. It is about creating systems that are fair, transparent, and dependable. During my internship, I worked with accounts payable and receivable, reconciling invoices with payments and ensuring financial records reflected reality. I learned that when financial information is clear and accurate, businesses can make better decisions, employees are paid correctly and on time, and clients feel respected. I want to carry that mindset forward by becoming an accountant who prioritizes integrity and clarity in every financial process. My background as a student who moved from Mexico to the United States also influences how I want to make an impact through accounting. Navigating a new country taught me how overwhelming systems can feel when you do not fully understand them. I bring that awareness into my approach to finance. I want to help businesses, especially those working with diverse teams or international clients, communicate financial information in ways that are accessible and understandable. Accounting should not feel intimidating or exclusive. It should empower people to understand their resources and make informed choices. In the future, I see myself working in corporate or client-focused accounting where ethical financial practices support long-term growth rather than short-term gains. I am especially interested in roles that involve managing portfolios, ensuring compliance, and improving internal controls. These areas allow accountants to protect organizations from risk while also building trust with employees, vendors, and stakeholders. When businesses operate transparently, they contribute to healthier workplaces and stronger communities. Beyond individual companies, I believe accountants have a broader responsibility to the business world. Sound accounting practices promote accountability and sustainability. They prevent fraud, reduce waste, and ensure resources are used where they are needed most. With a strong accounting education, I hope to be someone who advocates for ethical decision-making, supports responsible leadership, and helps organizations grow without compromising their values. Ultimately, I envision leveraging my accounting education to be a quiet but steady force for good. Not every impact is loud or visible. Sometimes it is found in accurate records, fair payments, and honest reporting. By combining technical knowledge with empathy and integrity, I want to contribute to a business world where success is measured not only by profit, but by trust, responsibility, and long-term impact.
