Bio

I believe that I would make a wonderful candidate for any scholarship. I have excelled in all aspects of my high school career. I have made a difference in giving back by making sure I have been an active participant and involved in all aspects of my high school academically, through sports and various activities. I am very proud of the fact that I have maintained a 3.9 grade point average in Honors Classes while playing three varsity sports and attending all practices/games throughout my high school career. I have also maintained a part time job on the weekends to cover the cost of gas in my vehicle, as required by my parents. In addition, for the past two years (and currently) I have been dual enrolled in college courses through the Geneva Regional Technical Education Center. Through this dual enrollment, I began my goal early of pursuing my Airframe and Powerplant Degree in Aviation. Upon graduation, I will be close to finishing my first year. I have served my community through the youth at my church. I was chosen as one of a select few of Geneva County students to be a Warren Beck Youth Leadership Program delegate, and I was chosen as one of a few select students as a member of the Wiregrass Youth Tour through Wiregrass Electric Coop. I was also chosen by my peers and teachers to be a LAMP athlete as a leader for my peers in student athletics. Each of these programs required members to be chosen by board invested adults. I believe this shows my character and the kind of person and student that I am and continue to be.

Aircraft Mechanics for Aircraft Mechanics Scholarship
I believe that I would make a wonderful candidate for the 2023 Aircraft Mechanics Scholarship. I have excelled in all aspects of my high school career. During my high school career, I have made a difference in giving back by making sure I have been an active participant and involved in all aspects of my high school academically, through sports and various activities. I have chosen a path of obtaining my Associate Degree in Airframe and Powerplant Technology through Enterprise State Community College. I began this journey my junior year at Geneva County HS where I was accepted as an applicant to attend the Geneva Regional Technical Education Center through dual enrollment beginning my pursuit of this goal. My dream is to one day work in this field on aircraft and mechanics and possibly pursue my dream further by obtaining more certifications, allowing myself to inspect aircraft and, also, train others in the field as well. I believe this field is an amazing field to get into and can provide a wonderful living to provide for my family that I will have one day. I chose this path because my father and my grandfather both work in this field and there are endless opportunities not only at Fort Rucker but across this Country and even in other countries if I so wish. During my high school career, I have made a difference in giving back by making sure I have been an active participant and involved in all aspects of my high school academically, through sports and various activities in my community. I am very proud of the fact that I have maintained a 3.9 grade point average in Honors Classes, participated in programs that required students to be chosen by adult board members while playing three varsity sports and attending all practices and games throughout my high school career. I have also maintained a part-time job on the weekends to cover the cost of gas in my vehicle, as required by my parents. I believe these characteristics can attest to the kind of person that I am and how I have played an important role in my community already. I can’t imagine not continuing to be a part of my community and pursuing my dream in Aviation as I move into my next chapter of life. I will do this through working and building a career in this community, raising my family here, and I will try to give back to the community that has so greatly poured itself into me and helped shape the young man that I am today. Thank you for your consideration of me for this scholarship.

On December 17, 2017, my best friend, Brock, committed suicide unexpectedly. Brock was a popular, music loving, sports loving and funny kid. His suicide was totally shocking and was totally unexpected to all that knew him, but especially to me, his best friend. My life changed in the blink of an eye at the age of 13, when my parents and I received a phone call from his mother to get to the hospital immediately, that something terrible had happened to Brock. When we arrived, I was escorted in to say goodbye to his lifeless body being controlled by machines. At that very moment, my life forever changed. Things I took for granted, future plans, and things I wish I had said or noticed the days prior was something I struggled to come to terms with. I had immense grief that turned into anger and questions of why. After months of therapy with my youth pastor at my church, it helped me come to terms with Brock's death and helped me seek God to help come to terms with everything, even my own salvation. His death still affects me to this very day, but after therapy and from that year forward, I decided to live my life to the fullest and honor Brock's memory by living my life for us both. First and foremost, making my friends feel loved, cared for, helping them, and noticing when they need to be included and feel apart of the group. Being the friend and person that God wants us all to be by loving one another. In doing this, I not only honor Brock's death, but I honor God by doing what he ultimately wants for us all, and that is to love one another as God loves us. RIP Brock.
