Hello! My name is Ganimete, i am a undergraduate student studying Construction Management at Pratt Institute. I currently also work in the construction industry as a Project Manager. I am a persistent and resilient student. I was a high school drop out when I originally applied to Pratt institute. I did not have a portfolio, ACT scores, or SAT scores to offer in my application. My application had been denied but I was determined to go to Pratt and study Construction and build my future career. I did not have any money to go to Pratt but I knew where there is a will there would be a way. I began traveling everyday from home to Pratt’s Brooklyn campus to ask registrar to accept me as a student. Each time I was turned away. Three weeks had gone by and I was still coming to campus everyday in hopes of being accepted as a student at Pratt. Finally, on the first day of the fourth week of me coming to registrar, I pleaded will all the advisors in the office. I patiently waited in the office for a final decision. Finally an advisor came out with my student ID number and told me I would be accepted at Pratt Institute. I am forever grateful for the opportunity that was given to me to come to Pratt. I was able to take out loans and receive the education I wanted so badly. Now I am a senior, in my final year completing my degree and one step closer to my great accomplishment.
