      I am an aspiring Biomedical Engineer. I am considering this field as a career path because I want to use my knowledge to help people. I've always been drawn to the idea of using my skills to solve real-world problems and positively impact people's lives. Biomedical engineering will allow me to innovate healthcare and improve well-being through cutting-edge technologies. During my first year at Boston University, I've had some exciting hands-on experiences that have deepened my understanding of engineering principles. For example, I got involved in a project where we built a room temperature sensor from scratch. It was an insightful opportunity that expanded my knowledge of circuits and Arduino. This project showed me firsthand the importance of attention to detail and precision in engineering. Additionally, I have worked on several projects that enhanced my coding skills in Python and Matlab. In my first semester, I used Python to analyze Tobacco Consumption by Adults in the United States. I imported a CSV file from The Centers for Disease Control and utilized Python programming to create tables and graphs that represent the data. In my second semester of college, I utilized Matlab programming to analyze data on food insecurity in the United States. We used MATLAB programming to find the median and mean of the U.S. struggling with food insecurity. Moreover, I've spent much time honing my coding skills in languages like Python, Matlab, and C++. These tools have allowed me to analyze data, develop algorithms, and simulate systems vital in biomedical engineering. Before college, I collaborated with a team to construct a 3D-printed robotic arm brace in my senior year of high school. The process involved designing a 3D-printed prototype and using materials such as an Arduino and a breadboard in combination with electrodes and muscle sensors. This project allowed me to gain new skills in med-tech design and increased my knowledge of electrical circuits. The most challenging part of the process was getting our Arduino code to work. However, my team and I overcame this hurdle and produced a successful project. Being a part of this process enhanced my passion for medical technologies and design. I actively participated in designing the robotic arm brace and worked closely with my teammates to ensemble the muscle sensors on the arm brace. These experiences reinforced my passion for biotechnology and motivated me to continue learning and exploring in this field. As a biomedical engineer, I'm excited about the prospect of contributing to groundbreaking advancements in healthcare.
