My name is Gissel Pizano, and I was born in the United States but grew up in Mexico. Two years ago I came to live and study in the United States, and I am about to graduate from high school. I am an empathetic and responsible person which is one of the reasons why I want to study a career related to medicine. In addition, for as long as I can remember, I have been a fan of watching anatomy shows like Dr. House or Grey’s Anatomy, which has inspired me to someday work in the medical field. I believe that medicine is more than just a profession, it's about connecting with people and making them feel safe. I hope to do this by communicating with Latinos in their native language.
