I am twenty-one-year-old Gisela Gonzalez from a small town in Mexico but was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I have four siblings; three younger and the fourth is my twin sister. School has never been my forte but I have always been fascinated by science which explains why I chose science as my major at Pikes Peak State College. I graduated from PPSC with an AS degree one year ago and am now planning on transferring to the University of Northern Colorado in the fall to study for a B.S. degree in Dietetics. I have not always had a healthy relationship with food so I am hoping that the knowledge I gain at the University of Northern Colorado will help me improve and maintain a healthy relationship and eventually help other people as well.

The person that I am most thankful for is my soulmate. She is the one person in the world that knows me better than anyone else. She inspires me to want to be a better person. She's believed in me and accepted me when no one else would. I know that no matter what happens I will always love her and I'll carry her in my heart forever, nothing is ever going to change that. This very special person is my twin sister. There have been tons of people in my life that have walked out on me and let me down, but she has always been there for me. She's been there during my heartbreaks, disappointments, and failures. We helped each other get through one of the hardest times in our lives; our parent's divorce. It affected both of us very negatively, and even though we're the same age, she took the role of an older sister and was stronger than I was during that rough period in our life. She was my safe haven when no one else was there to comfort and support me, and I will forever be grateful for that. She's also been a part of some of the happiest moments in my life. We joke all the time about how we are not each other's best friends and how we don't love each other. Obviously, we know we are kidding when we say those things because she really is my best friend and I don't know what life would be like without my other half. I once heard someone say that "it's amazing to have someone love you so much, you start to love yourself". I highly resonate with that because on the days I don't feel beautiful, she's my biggest hypeman and I know she'll be my biggest supporter till the day we die. I love her so much and I am extremely thankful for her.
