Hi! I am a high school senior interested in pursuing higher education in neuroscience, psychology, or cognitive science. I love STEM, the arts, and athletics. I have run track and cross country at my school for 4 years. The people I've met on the team are not just friends, but family. Running is just one aspect of the sport. The inside jokes, the spirited traditions--even having our bus break down next to a cornfield--are what has made me stick around. Outside of sports, I also participate in theater at my school. Acting has given me wild opportunities that put me outside of my comfort zone. For instance, I got to be a part of a simulated car crash to teach students about the dangers of drinking and driving on prom night. The experience challenged my acting abilities and I got to see how I would react in time of danger! I am a 2-time All State singer, and I get to share my love of music inside and outside of a school setting. I have helped young community members learn performance skills and build confidence as a Sunday School assistant at my church. I also get to share my love of music as President of my school's Tri-M music honor society. I get to help my community while supporting the school's music program. To stimulate my mind, I participate in Scholastic Bowl, Math Team, and Academic Challenge team. I love to test my current knowledge while forming bonds with my teammates. These activities have taught me about teamwork, cooperation, and discipline. I mean, where else could I learn about DNA, operas, and old mathematicians all in the same place?
