Bio

Hello! Nice to virtually meet you! I am Logan Cato and a 2024 graduate of Copperas Cove High School and current student at Texas State University. My life goal is to have a decent career. I would appreciate scholarships to get into college without worrying about whether I can pay for them. I try to get straight A’s and take many AP classes. The National Honor Society (NHS) invited me to join, and I joined, and other foundations also requested me to join, such as the NSHSS, Honor Society (HS), and NSLC. I am looking to major in Biotechnology or Computer Science since math and science is my favorite subjects, I believe these two subjects can explain everything. Creating new ways to save lives, solve problems, and increase my knowledge is something I will always want to strive for. I am currently planning to attend to Texas State University and have also been accepted into Texas A&M and the University of Austin. I thoroughly enjoy these subjects, and in 2015, I developed a science fair research project about James E. Bowman and his incredible studies on genetics and pathology. In 2016, at Science Olympiad, I created a 1:100 scale bridge activity to allow cars to move across and won two 3rd place medals. I am very excited to be on Bold and continue my aspirations with aid from scholarships, and I am lucky to learn and develop my career. I'm trying to improve the world one step at a time.

Interstellar is a movie that has had a profound impact on my life. From the very first time I watched it, I was completely captivated by the story, the characters, and the incredible visuals. This movie is more than just a piece of entertainment; it's a powerful reminder of the importance of human curiosity, exploration, and perseverance. One of the reasons why Interstellar is so important to me is because it inspired me to pursue my passion for science even further. The film's portrayal of physics, astronomy, and space exploration is both semi-accurate and awe-inspiring, and it sparked a newfound interest in these fields for me. Watching the characters travel through a wormhole, explore new planets, and encounter mind-bending phenomena reminded me of how little we know about the universe and how much there is to discover. Another aspect of Interstellar that resonated with me is the relationship between the protagonist, Cooper, and his daughter, Murph. Their bond, despite the incredible distances and time dilation between them, is a testament to the enduring power of love and the human spirit. As someone who values family and relationships, this aspect of the movie hit home for me and left a lasting impression. The themes of sacrifice, perseverance, and hope in Interstellar are also incredibly powerful. Watching the characters face seemingly insurmountable challenges and overcome them through sheer will and determination is both inspiring and humbling. The movie reminds us that despite the many obstacles and uncertainties in life, there is always the possibility of a brighter future if we are willing to work for it. Finally, I cannot talk about the impact of Interstellar on my life without mentioning the incredible soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. The music perfectly captures the emotions of the characters and the grandeur of the universe, and it's a testament to the power of music to enhance storytelling and evoke strong feelings. Interstellar is a movie that has had a profound impact on my life. It has inspired me to pursue my passion for science, reminded me of the importance of relationships, and encouraged me to persevere through challenges. The film is a testament to the enduring human spirit and our limitless curiosity about the universe. As I reflect on my own life and experiences, I find myself drawing inspiration from the characters in the movie, who faced incredible challenges and obstacles but remained committed to their goals and their vision of a better future. In particular, the character of Cooper, played by Matthew McConaughey, embodies the qualities of courage, perseverance, and determination that I hope to emulate in my own life. I believe that Interstellar has given me a newfound appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the universe and has inspired me to continue pursuing my passion for science and discovery. Whether I am studying complex mathematical equations or exploring the mysteries of the natural world, I am reminded of the incredible power of human curiosity and the potential for discovery and exploration that lies within each of us.

Growing up, my family faced a lot of financial challenges, and we often struggled to make ends meet. But despite those difficulties, I remained determined to achieve my dreams. I knew that education was the key to a better life, and I worked hard in school to ensure that I would be able to attend college one day. From a young age, I had a passion for learning, particularly in math and science. I loved exploring how things worked and were always looking for ways to solve problems. One year, I even developed a science fair research project about James E. Bowman and his groundbreaking studies on genetics. The following year, I competed in the Science Olympiad and won two 3rd-place medals for my 1:100 scale bridge activity. My love for science and my desire to make a positive impact on the world led me to consider a career in biotechnology or computer science. I believe that these fields have the potential to explain everything, provide new ways to solve problems, save lives, and increase knowledge. I plan to attend a Texas college, with Texas A&M and the University of Austin being my top choices. Despite my academic achievements, my family and I faced numerous trials and tribulations. Financial struggles were a constant source of stress, but we remained resilient and focused on our goals. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for us, and I saw firsthand the sacrifices they made to ensure that we had what we needed. But through it all, I learned the importance of perseverance, hard work, and determination. I also learned the value of community and giving back. I have been involved in the National Honor Society (NHS) throughout my high school career. These experiences have taught me the importance of leadership, teamwork, and service to others. As I move forward with my education and career, I am committed to making a positive impact on the world. Whether it's through groundbreaking scientific discoveries or by giving back to my community, I want to use my skills and knowledge to make a difference. I know that the road ahead won't be easy, but I am prepared to face any challenges that come my way. With hard work, determination, and the support of those around me, I believe that I can achieve my goals and make a lasting impact on the world, and with the help I need.

I have a heart of gold, shining bright Full of love and compassion, pure and right I share it freely with all those I meet Bringing joy and happiness to those I greet My heart of gold is a precious gift That I use to raise the spirits of those I lift I bring love and kindness wherever I go Making the world a brighter place, don't you know I am grateful for this heart of gold That allows me to be loving, young and old I will share it generously, day by day Bringing joy and love in every way I see the hurt and pain that others bear And I offer them my love and support with care I am always here, through thick and thin A friend they can count on, until the end I know that life can be tough and rough But with my heart of gold, I am tough enough To weather storms and see them through And help others do the same, old and new So, if you have a heart of gold too Don't keep it to yourself, let it shine through Share it with the world and let it be shown That love and kindness can be shown
