I am a dedicated, hard-working individual with a deep love for my family. They mean everything to me, and my greatest goal is to make them proud by becoming the first in my family to attend and graduate from college.
Soccer has been my passion since I was six years old. My love for the sport led me to become a referee at thirteen, as I wanted to deepen my understanding of the game. By fourteen, I began coaching to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
I currently attend Texas Tech University, where I am majoring in Management and Sport Management, with a minor in General Business. After graduating, my dream is to open a sports facility centered around soccer. My goal is to help players develop both on and off the pitch, provide referees with the tools to refine their officiating skills, and equip coaches with the knowledge to bring out the best in their players while understanding the game from an official’s perspective.
Through this journey, I hope to make a lasting impact on the soccer community and contribute to the growth of the sport I love.

I view education as the foundation upon which I can build a successful career, a life of purpose, and leave a meaningful legacy that will surpass my lifetime. It equips me with the knowledge, discipline, and perspective necessary to turn my vision into reality. Pursuing a Master of Business Administration will provide me with the strategic, financial, and leadership skills required to establish and sustain a mission-driven organization.
My ultimate career goal is to own and operate a soccer training facility centered on athletic excellence and faith. I aspire to create an environment where players, coaches, and referees are developed athletically, professionally, and spiritually while being exposed to values that extend far beyond the game. Soccer has been a central part of my life since I was six years old. Over time, my passion evolved into a commitment to understanding the sport from multiple perspectives. At the age of thirteen, I became a certified referee, and at fourteen, I began coaching. These experiences allowed me to see soccer not only as a player, but also as a leader, mentor, and decision-maker.
I know that pursuing an MBA will help bridge the gap between my passion and my purpose. Through higher education, I will gain the business acumen necessary to launch, manage, and grow an organization that not only develops athletes but also positively impacts communities. The MBA program is not simply the next step in my education; it is a critical step toward fulfilling a vision rooted in faith, service, and lasting impact.
Furthering my education will enhance my ability to secure meaningful professional opportunities, but more importantly, it will equip me to serve others more effectively. Graduate study will provide a deeper understanding of marketing, finance, operations, organizational management, and strategic leadership, which are skills that are essential to building a successful and sustainable business. These competencies will enable me to develop programs, manage resources responsibly, create growth opportunities, and lead an organization that serves athletes and families for years to come.
I believe a strong educational foundation is essential to inspiring, teaching, and empowering others. An MBA will strengthen my ability to turn my vision into reality while creating opportunities for those around me. I am grateful for every opportunity that has brought me to this point, and I view graduate study as the next step toward building a future that reflects both my professional ambitions and the values that guide my life.

My ultimate career goal is to build a soccer training facility centered on athletic excellence and faith.
At thirteen, I became a certified referee, and at fourteen, I began coaching. These experiences allowed me to see soccer not only as a player, but also as a leader, mentor, and decision-maker. Through these roles, I discovered the profound impact that mentorship and guidance can have on others. During my sophomore year of high school, I realized that my love for the game could be paired with my faith to influence lives in meaningful ways. What began as a passion for soccer became a calling to use the sport as a platform for service, leadership, and ministry.
The facility I hope to build will serve players, coaches, and referees through a combination of classroom instruction, field training, and mentorship. For players, I will focus on developing technical skills, tactical understanding, confidence, and character. For coaches, particularly recreational coaches, I will provide training on effective player development, leadership, and mentorship while offering practical field sessions they can apply with their own teams. For referees, especially young officials, I will create opportunities to develop confidence, professionalism, and leadership through mentorship and hands-on experience. Having become a referee at thirteen, I understand the challenges young officials face when managing games involving adults, and I hope to help them succeed both on and off the field.
Beyond basic training, I envision a facility that promotes complete athlete development. I hope to include a gym for strength, conditioning, and endurance training, as well as educational programs focused on nutrition, mental performance, injury prevention, and recovery. My goal is to create a place where individuals can learn, grow, and apply those lessons in every aspect of their lives.
This facility will allow me to combine my passion for soccer, my faith, and my commitment to service into a lifelong vocation. It will challenge me to grow as a leader, entrepreneur, and mentor while creating opportunities for others to succeed. For my community, the facility will provide a positive environment where young athletes can develop confidence, discipline, and character. Coaches will gain valuable training, referees will receive meaningful mentorship, and families will have access to a community centered on excellence, integrity, and personal growth.
To successfully build and sustain this organization, I plan to pursue an MBA to strengthen my leadership, financial, and operational skills. My long-term goal is to create opportunities for others, just as I was given opportunities that changed my life. By building this facility, I hope to leave a lasting impact on my community and help others reach their full potential on and off the field.
Students Impacted by Incarceration Scholarship
I come from a single-parent household. My mom raised my sister and me by herself. My father has never been actively involved in our lives. We would see him sometimes at our grandparents, his parents, on Thanksgiving or Christmas. Most of my childhood memories of him revolve around him being in and out of prison. I grew up in a small and well-off town, and a majority of the peers I went to school had both their parents actively involved in their lives. I remember being in elementary school and seeing all the other little girls attending Daddy-Daughter dances with their fathers while my sister and I attended with our grandpa, our mom's father, or our uncle, our mom's brother. I would get questions from other students about who or where my father was, and I would tell them I do not have a father because it was easier to say that than to explain what being incarcerated was.
Incarceration has left me without a permanent father figure in my life. However, something I have learned from the experience is other people's past does not define me. Just because my father has been in and out of prison does not mean I will follow along the same road. I can already say I have achieved far more than what I ever thought I was capable of doing due to my family's past. I have always been academically ambitious. I suppose my academic and career goals have always been more extravagant because I have always felt the need to prove to myself and my family that my father's past and continuous actions do not define me.
My biggest goal in life is to make life comfortable for my mom because she has always done whatever she could to provide for us and make us feel like we were not missing out on anything in life. She did and continues to do her best to raise two girls into strong, independent women. I made it my goal to graduate in the top 5% of my class, which I can say I did. I made it my goal to attend college, and I can say I am a first-generation college student now at Texas Tech University. Now, I am well on my way to building a comfortable life for my mom and all the people who have helped me grow into the person I am today.
Yes, incarceration has made me feel left out in some aspects of life. However, it is not an excuse I use to limit myself. Instead, I let my family's history of incarceration drive me to build a better future for myself and my future family.
