From the moment I took my first steps in a dance studio as a child, I knew that movement and music were a part of who I am. When my twin brother was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 during 7th grade, the pain that rendered through my body was something I cant seem to correctly explain. On that same day I found out, I went to dance. I knew I had dance and throughout the suffering and hard times my heart would still be beating for the thing that gets me through life. "One heart, one beat" represents the passion within me. Beyond dance, this quote speaks to the way people can come together as one. Just like in a performance, life is about working together, understanding each other, and finding a common rhythm. Whether in dance, friendships, or the larger community, we are strongest when we move as one. We may all have different experiences, but we share the same heart—the same desire to connect and create something meaningful. For me, dance is the ultimate expression of "One heart, one beat." Art has always been a way to inspire, connect, and express emotions. As a graduating senior in high school student, I want to use my dance career to do just that. I have been dancing since I was five years old, and my dream is to become a Radio City Rockette and a professional dancer. Through dance, I hope to inspire others, spark wonder, and create meaningful conversations. One way I will use my career to inspire others is by sharing my passion and dedication. Dance is not just about movement—it tells stories and expresses emotions. Whether performing on stage or teaching others, I want to show people that hard work and determination can make dreams come true.
