My life goal is to serve as an Aerospace Engineer in the United States military! I am passionate about everything that takes to the skies and runs on electrical energy. I love working with my hands and learning new technology that is unfamiliar to me. I like to be curious because I believe that curiosity is always an open door for growth and new learning opportunities. I also am a firm believer in Christ! My Bible is never too far from me!

This past summer, I returned as a Student Ambassador under the unpaid sector of my city regarding a student internship program. My experience as a student intern a year prior motivated me to return as a mentor to initiate new and positive changes. My first year as a student intern came after COVID regulations dropped, so the environment of the program was still recovering from months of isolation. There was a present lack of unity in the program between the students because of the new adjustment of in-person learning. So, I made it my mission to return to the program as a Student Ambassador the next year to encourage a stronger sense of unity and belonging between the students. I made the decision to revamp icebreakers by making them more group based rather than individualized to give them an opportunity to form stronger bonds and connections with each other throughout the program. I made the group activities centered around the students’ backgrounds and experiences so that they could learn about one another. In addition, I organized the group activities in a way that highlighted each student’s background and similarities. In this way they were able to relate to each other and bond over different interests on a personal level. By the end of the program, the students became so close that they decided to continue to keep in touch and meet up after they completed their internship. The best part was seeing the personal growth in each of the students as they grew comfortable around each other and stepped out of their comfort zone. It felt rewarding as their mentor to be a part of their journey as student interns and seeing how
they would use their experiences to navigate the opportunities they come across in their bright futures.
Secondly, To make my school a better place, I joined school groups that help address social conflicts between students in order to encourage a safe school environment. Following, post-COVID school re-openings, my school saw various conflicts between students occur. I experienced a lack of unity and connection to my school after coming out of distance learning for nearly three years. So, during my sophomore year, I decided to become a conflict manager and a peer tutor. I was able to help mediate healthy discussions between students to resolve misunderstandings and settle issues. It was only a small percentage of students I got to meet with during the week, but I believe that it did make a difference for the students that attended because it gave them an outlet and a place to feel comfortable being themselves. The students who attended the sessions noticeably had an uptake in their moods and they had a better mindset about their high school career plan. Overall, the goal was to encourage all the students to make positive differences within themselves that would encourage them to pass it on in the ways they would influence other people and students in their circles.
