TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) MOA Scholarship
I found TXT when my YouTube went on autoplay, and “Good Boy Gone Bad” came up. I was interested, but I didn’t become a MOA until “Sugar Rush’s” music video was released. The choreography in the post chorus had me hooked! For the past couple years, I had been a pretty casual MOA; it wasn’t until Star Chapter was released that they became one of my top 5 groups.
In terms of characteristics, I think an important one for MOA is compassion, for each other and for ourselves. The ability to treat others kindly is a very important value to me, and I feel like that resonates with a lot of MOA I’ve met.
My bias in TXT would have to be Yeonjun. I have a track record with my biases: I like the dancers who are a little silly and have amazing vocals (for example, my ult is Kang Yeosang from ATEEZ. Dancer, check. Silly, check. Amazing vocals, check. See? Track record). He drew me in at first with “Good Boy Gone Bad,” and cemented himself as my bias with his Artist of the Month performance. NO LABELS (parts one and two) have been driving me a little insane with how good they are.
My favorite song by TXT is “Farewell, Neverland.” I love its calmer, dreamy, whimsical vibe - and its choreography totally matches! I took inspiration from “Farewell, Neverland” for a piece of choreography I did in the fall of 2025. Seeing “Farewell, Neverland” performed at Newark in the same semester I choreographed a dance inspired by the song felt like fate. The entire concert - night 2 of Newark 2025 - was so much fun!! We got ot5 “GGUM” (my friend and I were freaking out about it) and the acoustic version of “Crown” made us cry. The entire night was just so magical, and every MOA I met while there were so kind. I don’t have my own Moabong, but so many people were completely alright with me borrowing theirs for a photo. The concert atmosphere was one of the best I’ve ever been in.
My favorite album concept was, hands down, Temptation. Continuing with my obsession with “Farewell, Neverland,” I love the whimsical vibe the entire album had! Like I said earlier, “Sugar Rush” made me a casual MOA, and the performance video of “Devil By The Window” had me in a chokehold for months (it still does, if we’re being honest). I still don’t fully know or understand the lore behind TXT’s albums and music videos, but the production and direction of “Sugar Rush” is so fascinating to me, and the album has some of my favorite choreography TXT has ever released.
I am currently paying for school with merit scholarships and the 529 Plan my parents had set up for me. Because of the depth of the scholarships and job opportunities, I have been able to make it through my bachelors degree program without having to take loans out. But I want to go to grad school - and by then the 529 Plan will have run out, I will no longer have my jobs helping fund my education (and I’ll have to apply to new ones), and I will no longer have the scholarships taking the rest of my tuition costs. This scholarship could help fund my going to grad school.
TXT has changed my life in so many ways. I met my best friend because of TXT - we met through a kpop dance club, and bonded over sharing a love of TXT and ATEEZ. We’re roommates now, and she is one of my best friends. As artists, TXT inspires me everyday: their commitment to their art and authenticity pushes me to improve and stay true to my own art. As people, they inspire me to be kind and true to myself.
I plan to go into teaching after finishing my education - high school literature or higher education research and professorship. I want to keep learning, pass my knowledge onto others, and encourage other people’s desire to discover.
