Athletics has impacted my life by being able to openly show how to respect and come together as a group/team. I have played baseball since I was a little one and had going to hang it up after this year as I am a sophomore at a community college. Baseball has shown me the ways to go about being around kids my age but also shows me how to bond with others and create lifelong friendships. Friendships have made a big difference for me as being not a socially friendly kid and so this was able to get me out of my comfort zone and be around these kids that had the same passion as myself. Being afraid of others was a major part of my life due to not wanting to be around anybody let alone talk to anyone, sports was able to change this and let me experiment with others. I come from a family that knows lots of people so it was tough to go from my brother being a popular kid in school and still is to me struggling through school just to make friends. Sports got me noticed and on the right path that I was shooting for and this was crucial to my self conscious. Positives are crucial in young life due to give kids confidence as they did for me to build relationships so that they aren't so new when time passes and are too late to make easy relationships with people. Athletics have shown day in and day out that they can develop kids from a rough start to life into a bright ball of life that every kid looks up to as a child. No matter what sport it was, from basketball to soccer to baseball where I would spend most of my time, each sport has its individual positive and negative aspects to them and they are unique in their ways. Positives can also keep someone in good shape physically and mentally, keeping them out of trouble, and finding a career based around athletics for a couple of example. Sports gave me a backing of what I should be doing to keep out of trouble but also healthy mentally and physically and this is crucial when people can get focused on an activity to show that there are ways to avoid being in the wrong group of people early on.
