Hello my name is Gabriella Bunyenyezi-Gray.
I am a sophomore aspiring to be a Health Wellness Coach. I have a strong interest in Asian Culture. I am fluent in both Japanese and Chinese also known as Mandarin. I did an exchange study in Japan for 3 months in Japan and hope to return in the future after the pandemic. I learnt a lot during my stay and taught english to the locals. I plan to further my studies in Psychology and not limited to Asian studies.
During the pandemic I missed out on my high school graduation and started my college in the fall of 2020 at home online. During this time I saw how mental health and self care are important. I saw how the pandemic affected us all and when i made it to campus I realized that there is such a great need for Mental Health today. I feel as a Mental Health Wellness Coach i can make a great impact on our society in helping people understand each other and how relationships impact our lives. My study abroad in Japan gave me an Asian perspective on how their mannerism are compared to other races. This taught me that we are all human but living in different cultural dynamics. In the States, we have a lot of cultural diversity, which make it even more challenging. We have different races and various foreign immigrants. To understand people, you have to be open to understanding people differences and be able to embrace these challenges. One just needs to have an open mindset, willingness to learn and a welcoming heart. I intend to impact the world as a Mental Health Wellness Coach One Person at a Time.

Hello my name is Gabriella Bunyenyezi-Gray.
I am a sophomore aspiring to be a Mental Health Wellness Coach. I have a strong interest in Cultural Diversity. I am fluent in both Japanese and Mandarin. I did an exchange study in Japan for three months where I learnt a lot during my stay and taught English to the locals in the community. I am majoring in Psychology and Asian studies.
During the pandemic I saw how mental health and self care is so important. The pandemic affected us all and when I started my studies in college I realized that there is such a great need for Mental Health today. My calm personality I feel I can help others navigate their mental challenges. I feel as a Mental Health Wellness Coach I can make a great impact on our society in helping people understand each others and how relationships impact our lives. My study abroad in Japan gave me an Asian perspective on how their mannerism are compared to other races. This taught me that we are all human but living in different cultural dynamics. Here in the States, we have a lot of cultural diversity, which makes it even more challenging to understand people, you have to be open to understanding people differences and be able to embrace these challenges. Being born to an American father and an African mother has been a great benefit in understanding cultural diversities. Being exposed to various travels has also opened me to human differences. To have an open mindset, willingness to learn about others and a welcoming heart is what is required to work with people. I intend to impact the world as a Mental Health Wellness Coach, One Person at a Time in hopes to make this world a better place.
