Volunteering gives you a sense of purpose, a sense that you are doing something good for others and you are not expecting much in exchange other than the satisfaction of doing a good deed. And by continuously doing such actions, you give yourself that chance to grow as a person.
Volunteering also provides you with opportunities to meet new people and form meaningful connections. It's a great way to expand one's social network and build relationships with like-minded people to surround yourself with.
Being a volunteer can enhance a person's resume and make them more appealing to potential employers in the future. It demonstrates dedication, commitment, and a willingness to contribute beyond personal gain and interest toward a common goal.

Volunteering has helped me to change my view of myself, I used to be a very selfish person that would only care about himself and not others. By volunteering, I was able to see the world from a different perspective and understand that our world is very split up when everything would be easier if we all unified. I'm happy to see the benefits of growing and improving as a person through actions like this. I come from an immigrant family and I was raised by a single mom. Those two are huge challenges for someone to face and go up against. My mom always taught me to be a good person and to stay focused on what is good for my future. I am grateful that she was strict with me in school, it has given me the ability to pursue a higher education by qualifying for academic scholarships. Higher education costs are really high for a family like ours, so any help is greatly appreciated and used for a good cause.

Construction is something that will never end and will continue to evolve as humanity evolves. Some could even say that it's a job security guarantee. What inspires me is the ability to create connections with people that come from different backgrounds to achieve a common goal, and that goal is to progress as a society through the construction of new roads, buildings, and living spaces.
While there is a wide range of technology options to help us do a job more efficiently, the labor that comes from a person as well as their decision-making ability could never be compared with a machine or computer. Therefore, construction is almost a guarantee that you will have a human connection.
Construction also offers the ability to climb the leadership ladder. If one person truly desires to, they are capable of working their way up to a leadership role starting from somewhere. Construction allows you to develop the skills that you need to progress within your field.
The construction industry is also well-paid, and at the end of the day, almost every person seeks financial stability and the ability to provide for themselves or their family depending on their situation. In today's world, it can be hard to find a job that suffices beyond the basic needs of a person to enjoy life, even after getting a college degree.
My career goal is to work my way up to a leadership position like Project Manager. This is my goal because I'm working on my leadership skills, and Project Managers have to lead a team to success to make ends meet with the customer. Eventually after reaching that position, my goal is to keep climbing that ladder, gaining the experience to problem solve and to manage different circumstances that are common when working with a team.
At the moment I am an intern for an electrical subcontractor and it is a great hands-on experience on what to expect while working in the construction industry. Plenty of the individuals that have leadership roles within this company have started as an intern as well. Maybe not at this company but they still gained their experience step by step by improving their skills. The fact that I am on a similar path as them really motivates me to stay in this industry and work my way up to the place I want to be because other people have done it as well.
