When we settled in Conroe it took me a long time to get out of my shell because at first I didn’t really talk to anyone there because I was scared of getting rejected by them. So every time a teacher said to pair up with another classmate I would just get whoever was left over or when the teacher said it’s time for recess I would always just sit somewhere whether it was on a playground slide or a swing set. I was just alone during the 3rd grade. My mother on the other hand was very different. She was cheerful and great with people. It wasn't until my mother made friends around the neighborhood that I was able to make friends with kids that could be my friends and help me with my nervousness. Not everything is perfect though while I made friends because of my mom I did not make many friends with kids at my school but after I would hang out every day with kids my own age and was happy almost all the time I was in this town, I made a home of this place and the people here so much so I feel like one of the people here in Conroe TX. Later on during my junior high years I decided to join the football team but not out of interest but out of force of my mother at first I was nervous because I didn’t know anything about how to play I got moved to a offensive lineman position due to my height and size in the beginning I didn’t do that well around half the plays we ran I was almost on the ground but because I asked questions from my coach and my other teammates I learned the skills and footwork I need to go against other lineman. These skills stuck with me during my high school football career because that's when I went against a whole new challenge that not a lot of people can overcome. When I got to high school an obstacle I have always encountered each year is football. Every year coaches said do not worry if you miss him, but I did and took it personally because they basically told me that I was inadequate compared to me because they were taller, had at least 2 more years of experience on varsity and they could almost lift the same as me so I trained as hard as I could putting in extra work, working on my footwork and not become lazy but instead quick with my feet and violent with my hands. Then one day at practice and split with our group eventually we went against the defensive line and when it was me vs them I was able to block a lot of them from getting my quarterback because I did not slack off and didn’t let my coaches word’s get to me from being able to do what others think I couldn’t. These opportunities and challenges I faced during my high school career and the years before it have helped shaped me into the person I am today because in my early years I was antisocial and didn’t have enough courage to face overwhelming challenges but because I put myself out there and was dedicated to my work I was able to overcome personal challenges for me that held me back from my growth. This showed me that I have good qualities like perseverance, diligence, and dedication because of my experience with personal challenges that I thought were impossible to overcome.
