I am passionate about the science field and dedicated to finding innovative ways to improve people’s lives. Having personally experienced asthma and eczema since a child has motivated me to help find cures for these conditions that affect so many people. My ultimate goal is to become a neurologist, but I also aspire to contribute to breakthroughs in respiratory and skin health.

WinnerSince I was six years old, I have lived with asthma and eczema, two conditions that have profoundly shaped my life. I remember my first asthma attack vividly. It happened during a family vacation when I woke up in the morning feeling like I couldn’t breathe. The panic I felt as my chest tightened and I struggled for air is something I will never forget. Since then, I have had a few more attacks, each one a reminder of how fragile life can feel when your body doesn’t cooperate. My eczema, on the other hand, affects me almost every day. It looks and feels horrible, often making my skin itchy, red, and uncomfortable. Sometimes people even ask if it’s contagious, which can make me feel embarrassed or isolated. Living with these conditions has not been easy, but they have taught me resilience, patience, and empathy.
These experiences have also inspired my passion for the sciences and medicine. Having to navigate asthma attacks and manage eczema flare-ups has made me deeply curious about how the body works and how medical treatments can improve people’s lives. I spend time reading about these conditions, what treatments are available now, and thinking critically about how scientists might one day find cures for chronic conditions like mine. This curiosity, combined with my personal experiences, motivates me to pursue a career in medicine where I can contribute to real solutions that help people live healthier, fuller lives.
My ultimate goal is to become a neurologist, but I am also driven to advance research in respiratory and skin health. I want to help discover better treatments or, even better, a cure for asthma and eczema, so others do not have to experience the fear, discomfort, or social challenges that I have faced. I hope that my work in medicine and research can improve the quality of life for people struggling with chronic illnesses and inspire others to pursue their dreams despite their medical challenges.
Living with asthma and eczema has not been easy, but it has given me perspective, determination, and a desire to make a difference. These conditions have taught me to advocate for myself, to adapt when things get difficult, and to approach life with empathy and curiosity. They have shaped who I am today and continue to motivate me to pursue a career in medicine where I can turn my challenges into opportunities to help others. I hope to use my knowledge, experience, and passion to make meaningful contributions to the health and well-being of those around me.
