Bio

My life goals are to become a technician/ mechanic in the aviation world, and to also get my pilots license for both fixed wing and rotor aircraft. One thing I’m passionate about is personal development and helping others. I say personal development because I believe that once I have shown I can better myself, I will be able to help others better themselves as well. I believe I’m a great candidate because I work hard and almost up to 40 hours a week, I come from a low income household where I’m the youngest of five and I would be a first generation college student. I have good grades and I know the meaning of hard work because I have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. I’m a service oriented person and I believe in giving back to the community.

The tarde I would like to learn is aviation maintenance. I am a 17 year old student from Tulpehocken JSHS. I am interested in pursuing an education in aviation maintenance because I’ve always liked to work on cars and trucks with my dad and brothers, but I feel it would be very cool to say that I worked on an airplane or helicopter. I’m also interested in finding out the mechanics of how airplanes work because one day I hope to get my pilot’s license as well as working on aircraft. As I get older I would also like to get my own little planes that I can either fix or repair and have fun with them. Over the summer I’ve attended camps that are a window into the aviation world. I went to a mini camp at Pennsylvania College of Technology to see if I was truly as interested in the aviation world. While I was there we got to make our own model airplanes out of sheet metal. I also got to take some of an engine apart that they had for practicing, and was shown how to make my own circuit board and test it with lights. While I was out of school in the summer I also had the opportunity to attended another aviation mini camp held by Eastern Mennonite University. While I was there I got to build my own little drone, and was able to fly one of the larger drones that they brought with them. There was also a station showing the inside of a magneto and they explained how it worked. They also let us use a torque wrench to torque down the spark plugs in an old engine they had. We were shown what an endoscope was and got to see the inside of an old engine they had brought with them. I’ve also had the opportunity to do my discovery flight and to go on a bi-plane ride. In closing I feel the aviation field will be a nice fit for me. I enjoy the aviation world in general by going to air shows and other things. Im hopeful to be able to pass down the knowledge that I will gain over the years of being in the aviation world. Lastly I feel very confident that I will be able to do all the things needed to fulfill my plans for my career.

I’m also interested in finding out the mechanics of how airplanes work because one day I hope to get my pilot’s license as well as working on aircraft. As I get older I would also like to get my own little planes that I can either fix or repair and have fun with them or even sell them to make money on the side or have my own little business. While I was there I also got to taxi an airplane and had the opportunity to help start a commercial jet that they had donated to them by Fed EX. Over the summer I also had the opportunity to attended another aviation mini camp held by Eastern Mennonite University. While I was there I got to build my own little drone, and was able to fly one of the larger drones that they brought with them. I think I will also be able to make a good living for myself and my future family to provide a nice life, and hopefully be able to pass down the knowledge that I will gain over the years. I feel very confident that I will be able to do all the things needed to fulfill my plans for my career.
