Bio

My name is Joshua and I am a fourth-year university student studying Earth Sciences, with a focus on hydrogeology and seismology. Throughout my studies, I have developed a strong foundation in earth science, including coursework in geophysics, structural geology, and coastal science. In addition to my coursework, I have gained practical experience through fieldwork and internships, including a spring study with my institution where I assisted with seismologic surveying of a stable earth flow. In addition, I currently work for the city of San Jose monitoring and protecting the local watershed. Outside of my academic pursuits, I am highly skilled in data analysis and visualization, with proficiency in Excel, Matlab, R: Statistical Computing, and QGIS. I have demonstrated my ability to analyze and interpret data in the context of climate change, presenting my findings in both written and oral formats. I am a dedicated and hardworking student with a strong passion for hydrogeology and the environment. I believe that my combination of academic achievement, practical experience, and analytical skills make me a highly qualified candidate for scholarships. Thanks so much for your consideration!
