    First-Gen Futures Scholarship
Growing up, I did not always have a thought about college would be in the cards for me. No one in my family had gone to college, so I did not have a roadmap to follow. However, deep down, I always knew I wanted something more. I wanted to break the cycle and prove that it does not matter where you come from, it is about where you want to go. For me, going to college is more than just getting a degree. It is about. making a better future for myself and my family. My parents worked hard to provide for me, but they did not have the chance to go to college themselves. Now it is my turn to take that step and create opportunities for a life that is different from what they had. Preparing for college as a first-generation student was not easy. At first, I did not know where to begin. The application process was confusing, and I did not even know what resources I could use to help me. I ended up spending a lot of time online, talking to teachers and counselors, and asking anyone who could give me advice. It was not perfect, but I figured it out and kept pushing forward. The financial part has been tough too. I have worked part-time jobs during school, and while it is not always easy, I have learned how to manage my time and make sacrifices. Every shift I work brings me closer to reaching my goal, and I had to remind myself that it is all worth it in the end. Being the first in my family to go to college comes with its own set of challenges, but it also makes me feel proud. Additionally, It shows that no matter what you face and if you stay focused and keep going, you can overcome it. I have learned a lot about myself along the way, which it being such as of about resilience, hard work, and how important it is to never give up no matter what happens in your life. At the end of the day, I am doing this not just for me, but for my family, my community, and anyone who is ever thought their dreams were out of reach. College is my chance to prove that anything is possible if you are willing to put in the effort.
    Kristinspiration Scholarship
Education is important to me because it represents opportunity, growth, and the ability to build a better future, not just for myself, but for my family and future generations. As a first-generation college student, I see education as more than just earning a degree; it is about breaking barriers and proving that hard work and determination can lead to success. Growing up, I watched my parents work tirelessly to provide for our family, always emphasizing the value of education even though they never had the chance to pursue it themselves. Their sacrifices inspire me to push forward, knowing that every class I take and every exam I pass brings me one step closer to fulfilling their dreams as well as my own. Choosing to major in accounting is a strategic decision that aligns with my passion for numbers and problem-solving, but more importantly, it is a field that offers stability and upward mobility. With this degree, I aim to not only achieve financial independence, but also to help others. Whether it is assisting small businesses, guiding individuals toward financial literacy, or even supporting my own family with better financial planning. I want to set an example that higher education is worth the struggle and that it can truly change the trajectory of a family's future. The legacy I hope to leave is one of perseverance and empowerment. I want my siblings, younger cousins, and future children to see that success is possible, no matter where you start. By graduating college and establishing a career in accounting, I hope to inspire them to chase their own goals with confidence. Beyond my family, I additionally hope to mentor and encourage other first-generation students, showing them that while the journey may be tough, they are capable of overcoming any challenge that comes their way. Being the first-generation in my family to attend college comes with immense pressure, but I embrace it because I know that my success is bigger than just me. It is about paving the way for those who come after me, which of proving that financial struggles do not have to define our futures. This scholarship would provide critical support in achieving my academic goals and ensuring that I can continue working toward a career that will allow me to give back. Ultimately, I want my story to be one that motivates others to dream big, work hard, and have a perspective to have the power of education to transform lives.
    Harry & Mary Sheaffer Scholarship
As a first-generation college student, I know firsthand the struggles of navigating higher education without a roadmap. My unique talent lies in my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, and I plan to use this strength to help create a more empathetic and understanding global community. One of my biggest passions is storytelling. I firmly believe that stories have the power to bridge divides, foster compassion, and challenge stereotypes. I have always been drawn to listening to people's experiences, learning about their struggles, and sharing their voices in ways that promote understanding. Whether through writing, speaking, or even digital content creation, I plan to use storytelling as a tool to amplify marginalized voices, particularly those of first-generation students and underrepresented communities. Growing up in a household where education was not always the top priority, I had to learn how to advocate for myself. This experience shaped me into someone who not only pushes through adversity but also helps others do the same. I have already begun using my skills to mentor younger students in my community, offering guidance on college applications, scholarships, and adjusting to academic life. By expanding these efforts, I hope to develop a mentorship program that connects first-generation students with mentors who understand their unique challenges and can provide the support they need to thrive. Additionally, I have a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the importance of cross-cultural communication. Through volunteering with local immigrant and refugee organizations, I have seen how misunderstandings and stereotypes can create barriers between communities. My goal is to continue working in spaces where I can foster dialogue between different cultural groups, whether that is through community events, workshops, or social media initiatives. By creating spaces where people feel safe to share their experiences, I hope to promote greater cultural appreciation and understanding. Another way I plan to contribute is through education and advocacy. As I pursue my degree,I want to use my platform to advocate for more inclusive policies that support first-generation students and marginalized communities. Whether that means pushing for better financial aid opportunities, mental health resources, or representation in academic spaces, I want to be part of the solution. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to continue my education and expand my efforts in building a more compassionate world. In my perspective, small actions that are involved in listening, mentoring, and advocating, can create a ripple effect of positive change. Through my talents in storytelling, mentorship, and advocacy, I am committed to breaking down barriers and helping create a future where empathy and understanding are at the heart of every community.
    Phoenix Opportunity Award
Being a first-generation college student majoring in accounting has shaped my career goals in a big way. Without the blueprint of family members before me navigating higher education, I have had to figure things out on my own, everything from financial aid to course selection. However, that challenge has made me more determined to succeed. My parents have worked incredibly hard to provide for me, which to often sacrificing their own dreams so that I could have opportunities they never did. Their sacrifices fuel my drive to build a stable and successful career, not just for myself, but for them as well. Accounting is more than just numbers for me. It represents financial stability, something my family has always worked toward. i have seen firsthand how a lack of financial literacy can hold back, especially in low-income communities. My goal is to become a CPA and use my knowledge to help families such as mine make informed financial decisions. I want to work with small businesses and individuals, which to making sure that they understand taxes, savings, and financial planning. Opportunities, such as the Phoenix Opportunity Award, make a huge difference for students, such as me. They take some of the financial pressure off so we can focus on our education instead of worrying about how to pay for school. With this support, I can continue working toward my degree and, eventually, a career that allows me to give back. Being a first-generation college student means breaking barriers, not just for myself, but for future generations.
    Redefining Victory Scholarship
Success, to me, is not about one big achievement or hitting a final destination, it is about growth, persistence, and finding meaning in what I do. It is about setting goals that push me, learning from my mistakes, and becoming a better version of myself every step of the way. Success is waking up with a sense of purpose, knowing that even the small steps I take each day are leading me toward something bigger. For me, success is not just about career goals or academic achievements, it is also about personal growth and the impact I can have on others. It is about looking back and knowing I did not just go through the motions, but that I really tried, learned, and made a difference in some way. Maybe it is helping someone else, maybe it is creating something meaningful, or maybe it is simply proving to myself that I am capable of more than I thought. This opportunity would help me move forward in my journey by giving me the support I need to focus on my education and future goals. For a lot of people, I have had my share of challenges, and I know what it is that feeling to feel stuck or unsure of what is next. However, I have learned that setbacks do not define me, how I respond to them does. Having this support would ease some of the financial stress and allow me to fully invest in my learning, giving me the chance to develop the skills and knowledge I need to build the future I want. In my perspective, success is about taking opportunities when they come, pushing through obstacles, and trusting that every step forward. No matter how small, it matters. Whether it is in school, work, or life in general, I have realized that success is not always about being the best or having everything figured out. It is about showing up, trying again after failure, and being open to growth. I additionally have a perspective that success is personal while it looks different for everyone. For me, it is not just about making money or getting a degree (though those things are definitely important). It is about feeling as of I am doing something that matters, something that makes me excited to get up in the morning. I want to learn, improve, and eventually use my skills to contribute in a way that helps others. That could mean working in a field I am passionate about, mentoring someone who is struggling, or even just being someone others can rely on. This opportunity would bring me one step closer to that. It would allow me to focus on what really matters without constantly worrying about how to make ends meet. It would give me the freedom to fully engage in my education, take on new challenges, and set myself up for the future I have been working toward. At the end of the day, success is not about perfection, it is about progress. It is about looking back and knowing that, even when things got tough, I did not give up. With this opportunity, I can keep moving forward, learning, and building the life I have always envisioned for myself.
    Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
Mental health has shaped my life in countless ways on how I view the world, the people I keep close, and the direction I want to take. My own struggles with anxiety and depression, along with watching those around me face their own battles, have deeply influenced my beliefs, strengthened my relationships, and helped me discover what I want to do with my future. For a long time, I had a perspective about mental health issues were that it was something that I should hide. Society often tells us to be 'strong" and just power through, so I felt that I had to pretend that everything was fine, even when it was not. That changed when I finally opened up to one of my close family members. Instead of being judged, I found understanding and support. That moment was a turning point. I realized that vulnerability is not a weakness, it is actually one of the bravest things we can do. Now, I have a perspective and it is that talking about mental health should be as normal as talking about physical health. The more we talk openly, the less stigma there is. Going through these struggles has also changed how I connect with others. I used to push people away because I was afraid of being a burden. On the other hand, once I let people in, I saw that real relationships are built on honesty and support. Now, I try to be someone people can turn to, because I know how much it helps to have someone who just listens. It is not about fixing everything, It is about making people feel less alone. I have realized that even small gestures, such as checking in on a friend or just being present, can make a huge difference. These experiences have also shaped my volunteering goals. I want to be involved in mental health advocacy, research, or support work in my community. I have seen too many people suffer in silence or get stuck in a system that does not truly help. I want to be part of the change and help create a world where people feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether that means of working in social services, or pushing for better mental health policies, I know this is what I want to dedicate my life to. I additionally want to help educate others about mental health, because the more people understand it, the more compassionate and supportive our society can become. Struggling with mental health has not been easy, but that has shaped into who I am. It has changed on how I see the world in a different and new perspective, strengthened my connections, and given me purpose. While I still face challenges, I no longer see them as something negative that defines me. They are a part of my journey, and if sharing my story helps even one person feel less alone in the world, then everything I have been through will have been worth it. And in a way, that gives my struggles meaning.
Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
Mental health has shaped my life in ways I never expected. It is changed how I see myself, how I connect with people, and what I want for my future. Dealing with my own struggles, or watching someone I care about go through it, has shown me just how much mental health impacts everything. It is not just about feeling sad or stressed; it affects relationships, motivation, and even the little things, such as getting out of bed some days. For a long time, I did not know how to talk about it. Whether it was fear, stigma, or just not having the right words, I kept a lot inside. However, I have learned that pretending everything is fine does not make the pain go away. What actually helps is being open, talking about it, listening to others, and realizing none of us are alone in this. Going through this has made me more compassionate and more aware of what people might be carrying. It is also made me want to help in whatever way I can, whether that is being there for a friend or working toward bigger change. At the end of the day, I just want to be part of a world where no one feels that they have to struggle in slience.
    Audra Dominguez "Be Brave" Scholarship
Life has a way of testing us, often when we least expect it. For me, adversity has come in many forms with both mental and physical. However, through it all, I have learned that resilience is the key to pushing forward. My journey has not been easy, but every challenge has shaped me into the determined woman I am today. One of the biggest hurdles I faced was dealing with anxiety and self-doubt. As a first-generation college student, I constantly questioned whether I was good enough to pursue my dreams. The pressure to succeed felt overwhelming at times, and there were moments when I thought about giving up. However, I refused to let those thoughts define me. Instead, I sought out resources to help me cope such as journaling and leaning on a supportive community of friends and mentors. Over time, I learned how to manage my anxiety and use it as motivation rather than a roadblock. On the physical side, I have also dealt with chronic migraines that often made studying and attending classes a challenge. There were days when I could not get out of bed, let alone focus on coursework. However, I knew that if I wanted to reach my career goals, I had to find ways to adapt. I become proactive about my health, working with doctors to find the right treatment plan and making lifestyle changes that helped minimize the impact of my condition. I also communicated with my professors, advocating for myself when I needed extensions or accommodations. learning to balance my health with my education was tough, but it taught me the importance of perseverance and self-care. Through these struggles, my determination to succeed has only grown stronger. I have pushed myself to take on leadership roles, network with professionals in my field, and seek out opportunities that align with my passions. I have learned that setbacks are just stepping stones and that success is not about avoiding challenges but about facing them head-on with courage and resilience. The story of Audra Dominguez is inspiring, and I hope to honor her legacy by continuing to fight for my dreams despite the obstacles in my way. I want to be an example for other young women who face adversity, proving that no matter the struggles, it is possible to rise above and achieve greatness. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to apply for this scholarship. If awarded, it will not only support my education but also serve as a reminder that bravery in the face of hardship is always worth it.

We bring in speakers, do mindfulness activities, and share tips for managing stress. It is really rewarding to see people open up and find comfort in knowing they are not alone. Outside of school, I would my social media to spread awareness by sharing posts about mental health and reminding people that it is okay to ask for help. Angelia Zeigler Gibbs Book Scholarship
Ever since I was a kid, books have been my escape and my inspiration. I remember spending hours at the library, completely lost in different worlds, whether it was historical fiction, fantasy, or biographies of people who changed the world. Reading has always been more than just a hobby for me, it has shaped the way I see the world and influenced the path I want to take in life. One book that changed my perspective about books is the novel, The Outsiders, by S. E. Hinton. One quote that stuck with me about this book is "nothing gold can stay." That made me realize that good things do not last forever in our lifetime. I want to use my passion for reading and learning to make a impact, whether that is by telling important stories by helping others gain knowledge, or inspiring people the way books have always inspired me. This scholarship would help me tremendously by making it easier to afford college books, which are a huge expense. Being able to continue learning without financial stress would allow me to stay focused on my studies and my future goals. I hope to one day pass on my love of reading to others, such as Angelia Zeigler Gibbs did for her family. One of the toughest times in my life was when my witnessed my mom having to work hard and save all of her money without wasting any of it for other stuff to help my family financially alongside with one of my sisters because my dad was not around to help any of us. I felt really upset and guilty, while it was hard to see past the struggle. However, instead of being hard on myself, I found ways to push through by working on a part-time job for a financial service company while going for my Associates in Accounting for full time at a community college. Online ADHD Diagnosis Mental Health Scholarship for Women
Balancing school, work, and personal life is already overwhelming, but when mental health struggles come into the mix, it becomes even harder. As a student, I have felt the weight of a academic pressure, the fear of not being "good enough," and the exhaustion of trying to juggle everything at once. Mental health plays a huge role in both my academics and personal life, and over time, I have learned how important it is to prioritize it. It is not just for my grades, but for my overall well-being. Just as for many students, I have experienced stress, anxiety, and burnout while trying to keep up with school. There have been times when I felt so overwhelmed by assignments and deadlines that i completely shut down, unable to focus or be productive. Other times my anxiety made me doubt my own abilities, making me second-guess every answer on a test or overthink every interaction in class. Mental health struggles do not just stay in one area of life, they affect everything, from my motivation to my relationships with friends and family. I used to think pushing through and ignoring my feelings was the only way to succeed, but I have come to realize that taking care of my mental health is just as important as studying for an exam. Over the years, I have built habits that help me stay grounded. Simple things, such as of keeping a planner to break big tasks smaller steps, have helped me manage stress and avoid last-minute panic. Additionally, I would make time movement, whether it is going for a walk or doing yoga, because I have noticed that even a little physical activity helps clear my mind. One of the biggest lessons i have learned is that it is okay to ask for help. Whether it is talking to a friend, a professor, or a therapist, I have realized that I do not have to handle everything alone, There is a lot of pressure, especially on women, to always have it together, to be successful, independent, and capable at all times. However, I have learned that strength is not about handling everything alone; it is about knowing when it reach out and take care of myself. College life is demanding, and I know I will continue facing challenges along the way. However, by prioritizing my mental health, I am giving myself the best chance to succeed. Not just academically, but in life. This scholarship would allow me to continue my education while also reinforcing the idea that mental health is something worth investing in. I want to show that success is not about pushing yourself to the breaking point. It is about knowing when to pause, breather, and take care of yourself so that you can keep going.
A Man Helping Women Helping Women Scholarship
I have always had a perspective that when women support each other, we change the world. I have seen too many talented, passionate women be overlooked, interrupted, or told their dreams were not realistic. I refuse to accept that. My goal is to build a career that helps women step into their power, whether that is in education, the workplace, or everyday life. I want to be a force for change, ensuring that women are valued, respected, and given every opportunity to succeed. Growing up, I noticed the little things. In class, I watched boys speak over girls without anyone batting an eye. I heard people joke that certain jobs were "for men" as if that was just the way things had to be. I saw women hesitate to take up space, whether in conversations or career paths. The more I paid attention, the more I realized that women were not just being ignored, they were being pushed aside. That is why for this reason I am so passionate about accounting. I want to use my career to break those barriers. I want to mentor young girls and show them that they belong in science and tech community. If my path was in law or politics, I would want to fight for policies that protect women's rights and amplify their voices. If I pursued healthcare, I would want to make sure women's concerns are taken seriously and they get the care they deserve. Whatever path I take, my goal is the same: to make sure women are heard, respected, and given the opportunities they deserve. I additionally have a perspective that change does not just happen on a big scale, it starts with the small moments. It is speaking up when a woman is interrupted. It is encouraging to be the kind of person who lifts others up instead of seeing them as competition. I want to live my life by that principle: lifting as I climb. This scholarship would mean so much to me because it would help me continue my education and fuel my passion for empowering women. I want to be part of the change that ensures the next generation of women does not have to fight so hard to be taken seriously. The world is full of smart, capable women who just need a fair shot. I want to dedicate my career to making sure they get it.
    Charles B. Brazelton Memorial Scholarship
When I was a kid, I really wanted to be an actress. I was obsessed with movies and loved the idea of being on screen, playing all kinds of characters. I imagined myself acting in these huge blockbusters, making people laugh or cry, and just having a blast living out these bigger-than-life roles. It felt as the ultimate job, and I thought that is what I would do when I grew up. As I got older, though, I started to realize that acting was not all it was cracked up to be. The reality of the industry, constant auditions, lots of rejection, and not knowing when your next job would come while it did not seem so appealing. I started thinking about a career that was a little more stable, something I could rely on. That is when accounting started to catch my attention. At first, I did not really think accounting would be for me. However, the more I learned about it, the more it made sense. I appreciated the idea of working with numbers, staying organized, and solving problems. Accounting offered a more straightforward path, and it felt as a career that could bring me some security and a chance to grow over time. It also felt as a career that where I could really use my skills to help others. Now, I am focused on becoming an accountant, and while it is. afar cry from acting, I am excited about it. I get to help businesses and individuals with something that is really important, their finances. I get to problem-solve and bring structure to something that can be really confusing for a lot of people. It is not the glamorous career I once dreamed of, but it is one that feels right for me now. So, even though I am not an actress as I once imagined, I am still following a path that I feel passionate about. It is just in a different direction than I originally thought. I learned that career paths are not always linear, and that is okay. am excited about where this journey in accounting will take me. It is a career that will challenge me, give me stability, and help me contribute to something that matters. Ultimately, I have a perspective that it will be just as rewarding as anything I have ever imagined before. While it might not be a red carpet, I am starting to see that success in my own way is just as fulfilling.
    Women in STEM Scholarship
Ever since I was little, I have been fascinated by how things work, whether it was gadgets or just everyday systems. This curiosity led me to accounting, which I realized ties into both technology and real-world problem-solving. I have chosen STEM because it is all about finding solutions that make a real difference, and I want to use my skills to make a meaningful impact in the business world. I know that women in STEM still face a lot of challenges, and that is something I want to change. There is a noticeable lack of women in leadership roles, but it is also an opportunity to stand out and show that women have a lot to offer. My goal is to not just succeed in my field but to be an example for others, especially young women, to see that they can succeed in this space too. The more we see women leading in STEM, the more it encourages others to join in. Although accounting might not seem as "tech-heavy" as other STEM fields, things are changing fast. Automation, AI, and data analytics are becoming a big part of the profession. I see this as a chance for women to step up and lead these changes. I want to combine my understanding of finances with technology to help businesses make smarter decisions and improve how things work, ultimately driving long-term success. I see technology as a key tool that empowers us to be more effective, efficient, and innovative in everything we do. In my perspective, having more women in STEM that does not just help individuals, but it moves the whole industry forward. It is about creating spaces where everyone's ideas are valued, and where we can all contribute to solving big problems. As a woman in accounting, I want to help bridge the gap between financial knowledge and the technological tools that can make everything more efficient and accessible. I also hope to inspire others to see the value in pursuing STEM and how much impact we can have. I am excited for what is ahead and confident that women have an essential role in the future of STEM. Supporting women as they chase their dreams in education and careers is not just about giving one person a chance, it is about improving the whole industry. With the right support, I know I can make a difference and hopefully inspire others along the way.

John Young 'Pursue Your Passion' Scholarship
I have chosen accounting as my field of interest because I have always believed that have the power to shape businesses and economies. As a child, I was fascinated by how financial systems worked and how they could influence decisions. Over time, that curiosity grew into a genuine passion for understanding the relationship between financial health and business success. I see accounting as a way to create real, measurable change in the world through accuracy, transparency, and informed decision-making. I want to make an impact in accounting by helping businesses operate more efficiently, stay compliant, and make decisions that set them up for long-term success. As companies grow, the need for clear financial reporting becomes more crucial, and I want to help organizations navigate the complexities of finance with integrity. My perspective of accounting being more than just balancing the books; it is about providing businesses with the insights they need to thrive in a competitive landscape. I am to be the kind of accountant who does not just help businesses track their finances, but helps them make strategic choices that will ensure sustainability and growth. Growing up in a family where financial literacy was not always a priority, I have experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate financial challenges without the right tools or knowledge. That experience has inspired me to help others avoid similar struggles. I want to work with small businesses and individuals who may not have the resources to fully understand their financial situation, offering them tools and guidance to make informed decisions. My goal is to make financial systems more accessible and empower people to take control of their financial future. Math, organization, and problem-solving have always been strengths of mine, and they have naturally led me to accounting. However, beyond the technical skills, I see accounting as a way to contribute to society. Just as John Young, an engineer who played a pivotal role in the Apollo program, made a lasting impact in aerospace, I hope to make my own contribution in the world of finance. I want to help businesses build strong foundations, plan for the future, and achieve their goals with confidence. In the end, my work as an accountant will be defined not just by financial success, but by the positive influence I have on others. I want to ensure that financial systems are transparent, understandable, and ethical. I am committed to learning and growing, so that I can contribute to the next generation of financial professionals and continue to make a meaningful difference in the field.

    Kumar Family Scholarship
Growing up in a low-income household, I learned early on the value of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of education. As a first-generation college student I have had to figure out a lot on my own. With college applications, financial aid, and career planning. My parents have always supported me, but they have not been able to provide much guidance in those areas. Even with these challenges, I stay focused on my education because I know it is the key to a better future. Academically, I push myself to do my best. I have a 3.3 GPA and am majoring in accounting because I enjoy working with numbers and solving financial problems. My perspective about this field is that it will allow me to help businesses and individuals manage their finances and create stability. My journey has not been easy, but I have learned to adapt, ask for help when I need it, and keep moving forward. Outside of school, I stay involved in activities that have helped me grow as a person and a leader. I have been a part of the Mayor's Youth Leadership Council (MYLC), where I participated in workshops, discussions, and community events focused on activism, social awareness, leadership, and advocacy. Through MYLC, I learned that leadership is not just about taking charge, it is also about listening, supporting others, and helping people reach their potential. I also had the opportunity to intern at Tiffany Outdoor, where I worked with another intern on research and strategy projects. Our work involved studying the market and identifying trends, but more importantly, I saw firsthand how teamwork and collaboration make a huge difference. That experience showed me how being part of a strong team helps individuals grow and achieve goals together. Even though I work hard, the financial burden of college is a major challenge. Tuition keeps increasing, and my family struggles to make ends meet. My parents work hard, and I have taken on part-time jobs to contribute, but it is still not enough to cover all the expenses such as tuition, books, and living costs. This scholarship would mean so much to me. It would ease some of the financial stress and allow me to focus more on my studies and extracurricular activities. Instead of constantly worrying about how to afford my next semester, I could fully dedicate myself to achieving my academic and career goals. Receiving this scholarship would also reinforce that my hard work and persistence are paying off. My dream is to use my education to not only better my own life but also help my community. I want to show other first-generation students that, no matter how many obstacles they face, higher education is possible. This scholarship would help me continue my education and, in turn, allow me to give back others. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and hopeful for the future ahead.
    Our Destiny Our Future Scholarship
My perspective about making a positive impact on the world starts with small actions that ripple out and grow into something larger. As I move forward in my education and career, I want to carry forward the values of compassion, service, and selflessness, much as the person this scholarship honors. To me, making a difference means listening to others, understanding their needs, and doing what I can to create lasting change in my community and beyond. One way I plan to make an impact is through community service and volunteering. I have been lucky enough to work with a variety of organizations that help those in need. From being involved in other volunteering opportunities for activism and social awareness that have shown me the power of kindness, leadership, teamwork, and empathy. Whether it is participating in awareness groups of hearing peoples' experiences about what is going on around the world, youth leadership workshops, or supporting causes by educating people about it, I have seen how those acts can make a big small difference. These experiences have opened my eyes to the struggles may people face, and I want to continue contributing in any way I can. It is not just about giving time; it is about being a presence that people can rely on when things are tough. One of the most powerful lessons I have learned through volunteering is the importance of empathy. It is easy to assume you understand someone's situation, but it is another thing entirely to listen and really try to see the world from their perspective. I plan to continue expanding my volunteer work, focusing on helping marginalized communities, whether it is through providing educational resources, offering mental health support, or simply being a source of encouragement. It is not about the grand gestures but about showing up when it matters most. In addition to volunteering, I want to get involved in non-profit work, especially those organizations that aim to improve access to education and healthcare. These two areas are incredibly important to me because I have a perspective thought they are the foundation for empowering individuals and create long-term positive change. I would choose to help bridge the gap between underrepresented communities and the resources they need to thrive. Whether that means working on the ground level to raise awareness, I want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Ultimately, as I continue my studies, I also plan to integrate my passion for service with my career goals for accounting. With this scholarship, I will be able to further my education ad gain the tools and knowledge necessary to make a more meaningful difference in people's lives. I want to live a life where my actions align with my values. I hope to inspire others to get involved, no matter how big or small the impact might seem. After all, if everyone took the time to do something for others, we could create a world where kindness and compassion are the norm, not the exception. By dedication myself to service, I have a perspective that I can help build a better future, just as the person this scholarship honors did in her own way.
Women in STEM and Community Service Scholarship
One of the biggest issues I care about is climate change, especially how it affects poorer communities. It is heartbreaking to see how the environment is deteriorating and how the people most impacted are often the ones least responsible for the damage. I have seen firsthand how people in rural areas struggle with water scarcity, crop failures, and the constant threat of natural disasters. This really motivated me to want to make a difference. My perspective about STEM can be a game changer here. With the right education, I want to help create sustainable solutions that can be used in these communities. Things such as solar energy, water purification, or more sustainable farming techniques could make a huge difference, and I am excited to explore how to make these solutions more affordable and accessible. My perspective about this is that it is important to look into ways of helping these communities adapt to climate change, which while not just mitigate its effects. With the right support, these communities can become resilient and even thrive despite the challenges they face. Local knowledge and innovation can work alongside modern technology to build solutions that last. Additionally, my perspective is that it is super important to involve women in these changes. Women, especially in rural areas, are the ones holding their families and communities together, If we can educate them and give them the tools they need, ten they could lead efforts to tackle climate change in their own communities. That kind of leadership is powerful because it is not just about the technology, but also about connecting with the people you are trying to help. By helping women lead the charge, we create a more sustainable future, which this can show where change is driven by those who live in certain areas that are most affected by climate change. Ultimately, I want to use what I learn in STEM to make a real, tangible difference for these communities. It is not just about getting a degree for myself, but using it to serve others and create long-term change. This scholarship would help me get closer to that goal, which including that it can give me the education and support I need to make a real impact. Through teamwork, education, and innovation, I am hopeful that we can make the world a better place for all. This also including those who are affected by the climate change.

    Andrea N. Santore Scholarship
I have always been good with numbers, but it was not until I started looking at how money works in the real world that I got hooked on accounting. Growing up in a low-income, single-parent family, I saw first-hand how important it is to manage money wisely, especially when there is not a lot of it. A lot of times, we did not have the resources or knowledge to make the best choices, and it was not easy. That is when I realized that accounting was not just about numbers on a page, it is about making life a little easier for people helping them plan for the future, and giving them peace of mind. I decided to go into accounting because I want to help people in the same situation I grew up in. There is a lot of stress that comes with not knowing how to handle your finances, and I want to be the person who helps others find the answers they need. Whether it is budgeting, saving, or planning for the future, I know that with the right knowledge, people can make better decisions and create a more secure life for themselves. Getting a degree in accounting will change my life by opening up career opportunities that will allow me to become financially stable and independent. I know that with a degree, I will have the chance to work in all kinds of settings, and that stability will be life-changing, not just for me, but for my family too. It will also show those around me that no matter what your background is, you can make it if you put in the work and invest in your education. This scholarship would mean the world to me. Not only is it helping me get closer to my goal of becoming an accountant, but it is also honoring Andrea N. Santore's legacy. As what she did, I want to give back and make a difference in my community. I know that by pursuing accounting, I will be able to do that in ways that are practical but meaningful. In the end, I know that getting this degree is not just about changing my life, it is about helping others too. Whether I am advising a business, helping a family budget, or working for a nonprofit, I want to be the person who makes finances a little easier for someone else.

Ode to My Calculator Oh, calculator, my math-class mate, You save me from a terrible fate. Without you here, I would sit and stare, At numbers floating everywhere. You never judge, you never sigh, When I forget how to multiply. You do not smirk when I press the wrong key, Unlike my teacher who is glaring at me. But on test day, you let me down, Batteries dead as not a beep, not a sound. Betrayed, abandoned, left to guess, That math test? Yeah... it was a mess. Still, I forgive you, trusty friend, We will stick together 'til the end. Just please, I beg, do not fade away, Or I will fail math another day.
    Learner Math Lover Scholarship
I love math because it is just as a giant puzzle waiting to be solved. There is something really satisfying about working through a tough problem and finally getting that moment where everything clicks. It is not always easy, but that is what makes it fun. Math pushes me to think in new ways and find creative solutions. One of my favorite things about math is how it shows us everywhere. I have caught myself using math outside of school more times than I can count, whether it is calculating the best deal while shopping, figuring out how long a trip will take, or even spotting patterns in everyday life. It is cool to realize that math is not just something in textbooks; it is a part of the real world. I still remember a time when I was stuck on a really difficult algebra problem. No matter how many times I tried, I just could not get the right answer. Instead of giving up, I kept at it, reworking it, looking at it from different angles, and it felt amazing after I finally solved it. That experience taught me that math is not just about numbers; it is about patience, problem-solving, and not being afraid to make mistakes along the way. Math has helped me build confidence in tackling challenges, and I know it will always be useful no matter what I do in the future. Whether I use it for a career or just in everyday life, I love how math gives me the tools to make sense of the world.
    Bear Fan Scholarship
The perfect ending to The Bear is not about tying everything up neatly. It is about growth, resilience, and finding a sense of peace amid the chaos. This show thrives on tension, heartbreak, and relentless pursuit of perfection. So, its conclusion should feel earned, not idealized. For Carmy, the greatest challenge has never been cooking, it is been himself. His relentless pursuit of excellence, his inability to trust others, and his unresolved trauma have fueled his genius but also his downfall. In the final season, I see him finally recognizing that perfection is an illusion. He learns that The Bear does not need to be the world's best restaurant to be meaningful; it just needs to be a place where people can connect. Maybe he even steps away from a kitchen for a while, traveling to Italy or Japan to rediscover his love for food in a way that is not tied to expectation or pressure. When he returns, it is not as the sole leader but as part of something bigger, someone who trusts his team rather than breaking under the weight of carrying everything himself. Sydney's talent and ambition have always set her apart, but for much of the series, she has existed in Carmy's shadow. The perfect ending sees her stepping fully into the spotlight. Maybe she stays at The Bear, evolving it into a restaurant that balances high-concept dining with the warmth of community. Or maybe she strikes out on her own, opening a spot that reflects her unique voice and vision. Either way, she earns the recognition she deserves, not just as Carmy's right hand, but as a chef in her own right. Richie's transformation throughout the series has been one of the most rewarding arcs. He has gone from being stuck in the past to discovering his own worth and ability to lead. In the finale, I see him running front-of-house at The Bear with confidence and grace, making guests fell as family. Maybe he even finds love again, proving to himself that he is worthy of happiness beyond the restaurant. Richie was never just a loudmouth from Chicago, he was always someone capable of greatness, and the finale solidifies that. Marcus's quiet brilliance and deep love for pastry have made him one of the most compelling characters. A perfect ending sees him traveling to hone his craft, maybe even spending time in Copenhagen or Paris. On the other hand, he ultimately returns home. Whether he stays at The Bear or opens his own bakery, his desserts become legendary, carrying the heart and soul of his late mother's influence. Natalie has spent her life taking care of others, often at the expense of herself. In the final season, she sets firm boundaries, maybe even stepping away from The Bear to focus on her own growing family. She and Carmy finally have a real conversation about their shared trauma, finding healing in a way that honors their past without being consumed by it. The series ends on a simple but powerful note. A quiet night at The Bear, the kitchen running smoothly, the team moving in sync. It is not chaos; it is harmony. Carmy watches from the pass, finally at peace, not because he has won a Michelin star, but because he has built something that matters. The camera lingers on a plate being set in front of a guest, a perfect dish crafted not for prestige, but for love. That is the ending The Bear deserves. Not a fairy tale, but a testament to growth, resilience, messy, and beautiful pursuit of something real.
    Love Island Fan Scholarship
Love Island thrives on steamy moments, unexpected twists, and relationship-shaking drama. My new challenge, Heart Rate Havoc: Truth or Temptation, takes the classic heart rate challenge to the next level by throwing in an unpredictable truth-or-dare-style twist. It is a flirty, fiery, and guaranteed to get the villa buzzing. The Islanders are split into two teams: boys versus girls. Each Islander takes turns performing a seductive routine for their fellow contestants while heart rate monitors track who gets pulses racing the most. Costumes, props, and creativity are encouraged. With the whole villa watching, the performances get bolder as everyone competes to make the biggest impact. The classic heart rate challenge already brings tension. However, this time, the top three Islanders who use the most heart rate spikes will not just win bragging rights. They will be thrown into the ultimate test: Truth or Temptation. Once the performances end, the three Islanders who raised the most heart rates are put in the hot seat. They must choose between answering a personal and potentially villa-shaking question or taking on a risky temptation. Questions might include confessions such as secret crushes in the villa or admitting if they are really into their current couple. Refusing to answer means facing a temptation. This could be anything from stealing a kiss from someone unexpected, sending a flirty text to another Islander, or even sneaking off on a surprise date with a bombshell. With emotions running high and couple being put to the test, this twist forces Islanders to either tell the truth or stir up even more drama with their actions. At the end of the challenge, the team with the lowest overall heart rate loses, and the winners are given the power to send one losing Islander on a date with a new bombshell. Just when couples think they have survived the game, the real trouble begins. This challenge is the perfect storm of flirty fun and messy drama. It pushes Islanders to step out of their comfort zones, exposes secret feelings, and forces couples to confront where they really stand. Some will come out stronger, while others will be left questioning everything. It is the ultimate mix of romance, competition, and unpredictability. This makes an unforgettable Love Island moment that fans would talk about long after the episode airs.
    NYT Connections Fan Scholarship
At first glance, these sixteen words seem completely random, but they actually fit into four distinct groups. The challenge is spotting the hidden connections that tie them together. Apple, orange, pear, and plum belong to the same category because they are all fruits. These are classic, everyday fruits that you would find in a grocery store or a fruit bowl at home. While some are sweeter and some are more tart, they all share the common theme of being edible and naturally grown. Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter form another group representing planets in our solar system. Mercury, the closest planet to the sun, is small and fast. Venus is known for its thick, toxic atmosphere, Mars is often called the Red Planet, and Jupiter, the largest of them all, is famous for its giant storms. While there are more planets in the solar system, these four are some of the most well-known and frequently referenced in pop culture. Diamond, ruby, emerald, and sapphire make up the third group, as they are all precious gemstones. Diamonds are known for their brilliance and rarity, rubies are prized for their deep red hue, emeralds stand out with their rich green color, and sapphires are famous for their deep blue shades. These gems are often found in expensive jewelry and have long been symbols of wealth and luxury. Blue, yellow, green, and red complete the final category as they are all colors. These four are some of the most common and recognizable colors in nature, fashion, and art. These also happen to be primary and secondary colors that form the foundation of countless other shades. This puzzle works because some words might initially seem to fit in multiple categories, making it tricky to sort them correctly. Ruby might make you think of red before realizing it belongs with the gemstones and Mercury could bring to mind the element instead of the planet. The challenge is in looking beyond the obvious and finding the deeper connections. Once everything clicks, it brings that satisfying moment that makes Connections puzzles so fun and addictive.
    Team USA Fan Scholarship
One athlete from Team USA that I always find myself cheering for is Simone Biles. There is something truly special about her, and I am not just talking about her incredible gymnastics skills, though those are certainly a huge part of it. Simone stands out to me because she embodies resilience, strength and grace in ways that go far beyond the mat. Simone has been through so much in her career, and yet she continues to rise above it all. Her performances at the Olympics, especially in 2016 when she won four gold medals and one bronze, were a triumph of sheer talent. However, what really stands out is how she handles the pressure. Gymnastics is such an intense the sport, with high expectations from both the public and herself, and Simone has never backed down from the challenge, even when the weight of the world was on her shoulders. She shows us that being the best does not just mean winning medals, it means pushing through personal struggles and continuing to strive for greatness. On the other hand, what I admire most about Simone is not just her athleticism, it is her character. When she pulled out of some events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to prioritize her mental health, it was a huge moment for sports, not just gymnastics. It took an incredible amount of courage to make that decision, especially knowing the spotlight she was under. Simone showed the world that it is okay to take a step back and care of yourself. Her vulnerability and authenticity have been a beacon of hope for so many people who struggle with mental health. She broke down barriers by speaking up, making it okay for athletes and everyone to prioritize their well-being without feeling ashamed. Simone's journey has also been a reminder of what it means to be a true champion. It is not just about winning, but about being a role model and showing strength in every aspect of life, whether you are performing or taking a much-needed break. She has been through ups and downs, but her perseverance and her ability to inspire others, especially young athletes, are what truly make her a standout figure. To me, Simone Biles represents what it means to be a part of Team USA. Not just in skill, but in heart, strength, and authenticity. Cheering for Simone is easy because she is so much more than an athlete; she is a powerful symbol of resilience, bravery, and the importance of mental health. Every time she steps onto the math, she represents more than just herself, she represents every person who has fought to overcome obstacles. She makes it easier for others to believe in their own strength. That is why she is my favorite athlete to cheer for her on Team USA.
    LeBron James Fan Scholarship
My perspective about LeBron James is that I am one of his fans, and he is the greatest basketball player of all time. It is not just about his insane stats or the records he is breaking left and right, but it is the way he carries himself both on and off the court that sets him apart from every other player. LeBron has been at the top of his game for over 20 years, and he is still playing at an elite level. He is not just a dominant force in basketball, he is a master at making everyone around him better, Whether he is dishing out assists, setting up teammates for open shots, or crashing the boards, he always plays the game the right way. He is a leader while I watch him perform just as someone does everything right by making the perfect pass, hitting the game by winning the shot, or just pushing through adversity without missing a beat. The fact that he is doing it at 38 years old, still dunking on people and making crazy plays, just shows that his body is in another league of its own. However, what makes LeBron truly special is what he stands for. He is a role model in so many ways, from his work ethic to his philanthropy. LeBron came from humble beginnings in Akron, Ohio. He built a school, the "I PROMISE School," for at-risk kids, providing them with a chance at a better future. He uses his platform to speak out on social issues and inspires millions of people to chase their dreams, no matter their background. Lebron is a businessman, an activist, and a father. He is an all around example of someone who is not just focused on himself but on uplifting others. As for whether he is the greatest basketball player of all time, I absolutely think so. While Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan are just as legends as Lebron, his energy is unmatched. He has dominated in every era he has played in, whether it is taking the Cavs to the NBA Finals or leading the Lakers to another championship. His ability to adapt his game over the years, stay healthy, and still perform at a high level at his age is unheard of. In addition, let's not forget the fact that he has been an ambassador for the game, pushing for player empowerment and speaking out on issues that matter. That is something we have never seen before to this extent. LeBron is not just a basketball player; he is a cultural icon, a leader, and someone who is inspired millions of people. His legacy goes far beyond the court, and that is why I am proud to be a fan of Lebron James. He is truly the greatest of all time.
    Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship
Billie Eilish is an artist who speaks to me in ways that few others do, and her music has been a constant companion through some of my most reflective and challenging moments. Choosing just three songs is though, but if I had to, I would say that "everything i wanted," 'bury a friend," and "Happier Than Ever" stand out the most for me. Each of these songs speaks to different parts of my life and feelings, and they all resonate in a unique way. "everything i wanted" is a song that hit me hard when I first heard it. The lyrics about fame, expectation, and the pressure to live up to an image felt so relatable. This includes that even though I am not in the public eye. The line "I had a dream, I got everything I wanted" followed by the haunting realization that it did not bring happiness, made me think about how we often chase after external goals or success. This only took to realize they do not necessarily bring us peace. For me, this song was a reminder that happiness comes from within, not from what the world might define as success. Billie's vulnerability in the song made feel less alone in moments of doubt. "bury a friend" is a perfect example of how Billie uses dark, eerie soundscapes to convey deep emotions. The unsettling nature of the song matched the feeling I often have when struggling with self-identity or anxiety. The lyrics ask questions that are uncomfortable, such as "What do you want from me?' and 'Why don't you care about me?" which echoed the internal struggles I have had when questioning my own worth or the intentions of those around me. The song made me realize that sometimes the scariest thing is confronting your own demons, and that it is okay to feel conflicted or lost. It is raw and unfiltered in a way that felt cathartic, such as someone else understood the darker corners of my mind. Lastly, "Happier Than Ever" is a song that has grown on me over time. Initially, i was drawn in by the soft start and the buildup, but what truly resonated with me was the emotional release in the second half. It is an anthem about growth, about realizing you are better off without certain things or people in your life, and the power of walking away from toxic situations. When the music shifts and Billie starts belting out those lyrics, it feels that a weight being lifted. For me, it is been a reminder of my own strength to let go of things that no longer serve me. It is about finding your voice and taking control of your life, even if it means going through some pain to get there. Each of these songs represents different moments of growth, introspection, and realization for me. They have helped me understand myself better, and they have been a soundtrack to navigating the complexities of life. Billie Eilish's music is not just about catchy melodies, it is about feeling deeply and confronting hard truths. This also includes finding peace, ultimately.
    Bookshelf to Big Screen Scholarship
My favorite book-to-film adaptation has to be The Lord of the Rings trilogy. As a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic world, I was incredibly excited and a little nervous to see how Peter Jackson would bring Middle-earth to life on the big screen. The result was nothing short of magical. The films did so much more than just translate the books into visual, they enhanced the story in a way that made me appreciate both mediums even more. What stood out to me immediately was how the filmmakers managed to capture the grand scale of Tolkien's world. The sweeping landscapes of New Zealand, used to represent Middle-earth, were breathtaking and truly felt that the landscapes I had imagined while reading the books. The scenes in the Shire, Rivendell, and the Dead Marshes had such a vivid. It almost tangible quality that I never expected from a book adaptation. The sheer beauty of these locations brought the setting to life in a way I could not have fully pictured in my head. What really made the adaption on the other side was the way the film added layers to the story without losing the heart of the books. In the book, the characters, such as Aragorn and Frodo, are more introspective. Additionally, the pacing can be slower due to the focus on the internal journey. However, the characters were elevated through action and visual storytelling from the film. Aragorn's transformation from a reluctant king to a confident leader felt more powerful through Viggo Mortensen's performance. Mortensen brought a quiet intensity to Aragorn that added depth to the character. Frodo's burden of the ring, played by Elijah Wood, felt so raw, especially in those moments where his emotional struggles were portrayed with subtlety but strength. Another element that was exceptional was the inclusion of epic battle scenes. While the books do have their fair share of action, the films took it to another level. The Battle of Helm's Deep, in particular, left me speechless. The way Jackson and his team turned pages of text into massive, coordinated battle sequences was awe-inspiring. It was not just about the spectacle, the action was always tied to character development. We could see the stakes through the characters' eyes, and the emotions of the battles were amplified by Howard Shore's incredible score. This added a layer of tension and triumph. The music from the soundtrack captured the essence of the Tolkien's world with deep and melodic. Including being filled with an almost haunting sense of adventure and loss. It heightened the emotional resonance of key scenes, which that the parting of the fellowship or Sam's unwavering loyalty to Frodo. Ultimately, The Lord of the Rings trilogy changed how I see both books and films. It showed me that an adaptation does not have to be a word-or-word retelling. It can be a reinterpretation, an art form in its own right, that adds something new while honoring the original source material. It bridged the gap between reading and viewing by bringing Tolkien's world into a more tangible, cinematic space, while still staying true to the heart of the story. It is a perfect example of how a great book can be transformed into something even greater through film, while still maintaining its soul. It remains one of the best adaptations I have ever seen and continues to inspire me as a fan of both books and movies.
    Charli XCX brat Fan Scholarship
My favorite song on brat is "Pretty Girl". The whole vibe just really speaks to me. Charli takes this idea of being a "pretty girl" and totally flips it. Instead of talking about looking a certain way, she states, "I don't need your validation, I'm a pretty girl," which is such a bold statement. It is about owning who you are, no matter what anyone else thinks. I feel that it is a presence that a lot of people need to hear, especially when it feels that we are all constantly judged based on how we look or act. What I love about it is that it is not just about being confident in some fake way. It is about being real and comfortable in your own skin. Charli has been doing her own thing for so long, and she has always pushing boundaries. However, this song really makes it clear that you do not need anyone's approval to feel good about yourself. It feels that she is telling that it is okay to be who we are, even if it does not fit into some perfect mold. Charli is basically giving us permission to just be ourselves and not worry about fitting in. The song itself is so fun. The beat is infectious and makes you want to move. It is the kind of track you play when you are in a good mood or just need a little pick-me-up. However, even with all that energy, there is this deeper message about owning your confidence and not caring what others think. It feels a song that is both empowering and a total jam at the same time, and that is what makes it so special. For me, "Pretty Girl" just has this perfect mix of fun and confidence. It is got that Charli XCX edge to it where it is unapologetic and bold, but it still feels that something you can feel a presence to it no matter what mod you are in. It makes me feel that I can take on the world, but also reminds me to stay true to myself and not let other opinions of people define who I am. It is catchy, It is empowering, and it just feels good. It is the kind of song that makes you feel confident every time you hear it.
    Chappell Roan Superfan Scholarship
The first time I heard a Chappell Roan song, it really stuck with me. I remember hearing "Pink Pony Club" and thinking, "Wow, this is something different." There was this energy in her voice that just grabbed me, and the lyrics felt like she was speaking to something I did not even realize I needed to hear. Her music has this rawness, a kind of honesty that is hard to find in pop these days. "Good Hurt" hit me the same way just has her words just connected in a way that felt real and unfiltered. Chappell's not just an artist to me; she is someone who gives us permission to feel everything. She talks about the messy parts of life with so much courage, and that is something I really admire. I have never really seen someone express themselves so freely in their music. She just puts it all out there with not filters. It is empowering to listen to her and know that it is okay to be yourself, flaws and all. Beyond her music, seeing her perform is something else. There is just this magnetism about her, such as when she is on stage, she owns it completely. It is hard not to be pulled in. Then, there is the way she stands up for what she believes in. She is not afraid to speak out about things that matter, and that is inspiring in itself. She is made me feel that it is okay to be loud about the things I care about. I support Chappell because she is someone who shows up as herself, no matter what. It is rare to find an artist who is so open and honest, and who creates this kind of space for people who might feel that they do not belong anywhere else. Everything about her is just so real with her music, her energy, and her authenticity. It is been something that is made a difference in my life, and I am excited to see where she goes next. She is definitely someone I want to keep supporting.
    GUTS- Olivia Rodrigo Fan Scholarship
A lyric from Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS that really resonates with my is from the song "Teenage Dream": "I wish I had a love like that. But I don't and that's alright." This line captures so much of the longing and uncertainty that comes with being teenager. As young people, we are often searching for that perfect relationship, which that picture of love we see in movies or on social media. There is a pressure to have it all figured out, to have the "ideal" love by a certain age, but the reality of adolescence is a lot more complex than that. I know when I was a teenager, I often thought I was supposed to have everything sorted out, including my relationships. There was this expectation, whether from my own mind or from the world around me, that love should come easily, and that it should look a certain way. It is easy to compare yourself to others, especially with the rise of social media, where everyone seems to have their perfect relationships all figured out. Additionally, for someone who is still learning about themselves, that pressure can feel overwhelming. What I love about Olivia's lyric is that it acknowledges that sometimes you do not get the love you dream about, and that is okay. It is a reminder that the journey to understanding whether it is romantic, familial, or even self-love takes time. It does not have to be picture-perfect right away, and that is something I did not fully grasp when I was a teenager. We often put pressure on ourselves to experience things at a certain pace, to check off all the "milestones" society lays out. But love does not follow a timeline, and Olivia captures that perfectly in this lyric. In a way, It also teaches a lesson in self-acceptance. Rather than feeling that something is missing or that you need to fit into a mold, it is about being okay with where you are in life. It is a quiet, but powerful reminder that not having everything figured out. This includes especially in terms of love, which is completely fine. There is a beauty in the waiting, which in learning about what love really means, and figuring out what it looks for you. That is something I wish I would known more when I was younger. Now, looking back, I see how much growth came from accepting the journey, which includes not rushing it. Olivia's lyric is a perfect snapshot of what it feels like to be a teenager: torn between the dreams of perfect love and the reality of figuring things out as you go.

    Wicked Fan Scholarship
From the moment, I first heard "Defying Gravity," I felt an immediate connection to Wicked. I remember sitting in the audience, completely mesmerized by the powerful music, the stunning performances, and the emotional depth of the story. It was more than just a show, it was an experience that stayed with me long after the curtain closed. I got emotional right from the beginning, when Glinda stood before the people of Oz, singing Elphaba's supposed demise. The way she reflected on their journey together, filled with both admiration and sorrow, immediately pulled at my heart. It set the tone for a story that would be both deeply moving and unforgettable. Watching Elphaba's introduction and seeing how she was judged before anyone even got to know her reminded me of times when I felt misunderstood, and it hurt to see her treated that way. But one of the moments that truly made me tear up was when Glinda and Elphaba danced together at the Ozdust Ballroom. Glinda, who had initially joined in with the others in mocking Elphaba, had a change of heart and invited her to dance. It was such a simple but powerful act of kindness, and it showed that Glinda was capable of growth and compassion. Seeing Elphaba finally feel included, even if just for a moment, made my heart swell. Elphaba's journey spoke to me on a personal level. With her, I have often felt that I did not quite fit in, but her story taught me that being different is not a weakness, it is a strength. Seeing her embrace who she is, despite the obstacles she faces, gave me confidence to be myself. "Defying Gravity" became more than just a song. It became a source of motivation whenever I doubted my own abilities. Glinda's character arc also had an impact on me. At first, she seems to have everything figured out. However, as the story unfolds, she realizes that true happiness comes from being genuine and doing what is right rather than simply following expectations. Her transformation reminded me that personal growth is a lifelong journey, and it is okay to change our perspectives as we learn and grow. Beyond the story and characters, Wicked has given me a sense of community. The love and passion shared among fans of the musical make it feel as it is a family. Discussing favorite scenes, singing along to the soundtrack, and bonding over the show's themes have connected me with so many wonderful people who share the same admiration for its message. By the time the ending came, I was in tears again. Seeing Elphaba and Glinda sing together one last time before Elphaba left was heartbreaking yet beautiful. Their farewell was a moment of reflection, not just for the characters including for me as well. It made me think about the people who have shaped my life and the importance of appreciating those connections while we have them. Watching Glinda stay behind while Elphaba disappeared was a bittersweet ending that left a lasting impact on me. Wicked is not just a musical. It is a reminder to stay true to myself, to stand up for what I believe in, and to appreciate the friendships that shape my life. It has inspired me in ways I never expected, and I know its lessons will stay with me forever. Winning this scholarship would allow me to continue embracing these values an sharing the musical's message of empowerment and self-acceptance with others.
