If I won, this scholarship I would be able to continue to make an immediate impact in my community! By increasing the amount of financial support, I receive I allow myself to focus more on my internal activities that go on at my school -- Utah State University. I currently focus on educating and promoting LatinX culture at USU's LXU Club. This financial support would directly translate to more time on projects like this and less time away from campus working to fund my education cost. The immediate impact I would make would be on all students who WANT and NEED to relate to their identify via culture and heritage. In a world with more distant generational families of Hispanic/LatinX descent -- our culture is being forgotten in the modern western world! Our heritage is a key to our roots, to our ancestors. This generation needs that key to allow us to connect to our identity. I want to be this bridge for my community! I am this bridge! And so are many of the students and faculty that support me. By electing me for this scholarship I will embody the first-gen narrative as I am living the story day to day.
