I am a Native American woman from the Colville Indian Reservation pursuing cosmetology so I can make something of myself and not just be another statistic. I want to finish cosmetology school, get my business degree and open up my own salon in rural towns just like my hometown, not only to make it where women who want to have these services done can finally have them done on a regular basis. But also, to open up more job opportunities for my own people and for the next generation of kids that are coming up. I am pursuing cosmetology because I have always had a certain type of love for anything and everything that has to do with it. I love doing makeup on myself and on others. I love to cut, style, and dye others hair. And don't even get me started on nails. It has always been "fun" to me. And I've been told my whole life to do what you love for work or else you will be miserable. I genuinely love this so I know i will always want to work.
