Bio
Hi! My name is Fatima Cruz, and I will be transferring to study Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas.
During my time at Dallas College, I earned an Associate of Science. I was involved in student lead organizations such as Student Government Association, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Texas Junior College Student Government Association (Region II and State), and Phi Theta Kappa. I served as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian across these organizations. With these organizations, I worked collaboratively with college officials and student groups to ensure that the rights, interests, and concerns of the student body were represented at every level of the college decision making process.
As a result of my work, I was awarded Student Leader of the Year for my campus for 2021 and 2022. I am currently employed by Texas A&M University as a Student Intern and Student Ambassador for the research program Eco-Synergistic Connections Program.
As a daughter of Mexican and Salvadoran immigrant parents, I am a strong advocate for equal and all access to healthcare for minorities. Ultimately, I plan to study medicine and pursue a career as a neurosurgeon.
