Bio

I am a first gen college student, an adopted child, and the only girl on my biological and non biological side. I attended Grambling State University until I was given a great opportunity to pursue track and field further. I am taking the leap to pursue my passions at Ottawa University. My academic focus is rooted in the principles of business, with a specific interest in the world of finance, investing, and real estate. My long term goal is to earn a masters degree. However, my true passion and ultimate goal lie in the world of athletics, with the ultimate aim of competing at the Olympics. With a scholarship offer for track, I’m eager to join the team and push myself to new heights. However, out-of -state fees are posing a significant challenge and I am highly relying on scholarships to make my dreams come true. With no family support, I’m shouldering the responsibility of financing my education entirely on my own. Despite initial setbacks, I’m committed to academic excellence. I started college with a 3.0 GPA, but I’ve since faced challenges that humbled me. I am taking proactive steps to improve. I am acutely aware of the sacrifices that have been made to support my education. I am confident that I will achieve my goals and make a positive impact in both the athletic and business worlds. My goal is to leverage my platform as a professional athlete to inspire others, promote healthy lifestyles, and make a difference. No matter what, my goals will come true, because if God said it, then it is already done. Amen.

      YOU GOT IT GIRL SCHOLARSHIP
Hello. I am Fallyn S'mone Williams. You may not know my name at this moment, but it will be recognized all over the world one day, thanks to my hard work and faith. I am a determined and resilient female athlete who embodies the qualities of perseverance and grit. I believe in following your dreams in the life you are blessed to live. I WILL achieve my dreams and goals in my lifetime. I have goals of developing a professional career both on and off the track. I proudly compete in long-distance and cross-country running events, including the 3200 m, 1600 m, 5K, and 6K. I have been participating in these events since 2016. My accomplishments include being listed as one of the top 4 Fastest Long-Distance Female Runners in the state of Louisiana, as well as a District Champion in Cross-Country. These achievements demonstrate my dedication and hard work in the sport. In high school, I'd received dozens of recruiting offers to run on a scholarship from multiple coaches across the country. Nobody in my family even knew that I had received all those offers because no one in my family knew me well enough to recognize my abilities. They never attended any track meets or events. Did they think I was going to the track every day for nothing? I doubt they even knew it was my favorite sport, even though it was right in their faces. High school graduation day came, and it was now time to start applying to colleges. I knew I wanted to run track in college and eventually make it to the Olympics. However, I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing when it came to college applications. I never had a strong support system to rely on for help, so I didn't have anyone to tell me that the correct thing to do was to apply to the schools that offered me scholarships for track if that's what I wanted to do. So, I then found myself attending a school that didn't offer me a scholarship, and boy, was I in for a ride. I was constantly given the run around with their athletic department for months. I started to feel unfulfilled because I wanted to continue running as soon as I got to college, but my progress was being delayed by months, which eventually turned into years. Despite the setback of wasting my eligibility trying to be a walk-on athlete at that school, I refused to give up. Even though I wasn't on a team, I never left the track. All semester and every summer, I'd work as if I were under someone's training. I never wanted to leave the track. One day after another failed semester attempt of trying to walk on the team, I decided I was done. It was now summer, and I was determined not to attend that school again the following semester. I didn't know how I would pay the tuition, cover my flight costs, or which school I would attend, but I prayed for it all. I prayed that God would single-handedly pick the school out of all the past offers I had received. Now that was his part. My part would be to email all those coaches to inform them about my current situation and ask if the offer is still available. The very first school to put the offer back on the table would be God's confirmation that I should attend that school and question it no further. Regardless of whether it was a Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, or NAIA school, I was going to make the best of the opportunity anyway. In no time, one of those schools put an offer back on the table in less than two days after I reached out to them. God moves fast, right? I am now at a school where I can compete as soon as I arrive. Although I wasted three years of eligibility at that school, I will use what's left to achieve my goal to the best of my ability. My experiences have taught me to rely on faith and inner strength, allowing me to navigate challenges and emerge stronger. Unfortunately, I am not inspired by anyone. I'm not surrounded by much inspiration. My own goals and ambitions wholeheartedly inspire me. This is the beginning of my story. Everyone has a huge setback before their incredible comeback. This scholarship will help me achieve my goals by providing financial support to afford the tuition, enabling me to focus on my athletic career and academic pursuits, and alleviating financial burdens. Thank you in advance for considering my submission for this award, and thank you for providing others with this type of monetary relief as well. May God bless you for blessing others.
