FinalistBio
My name is Faith London and I am a high school senior at Hempstead High School with a deep passion for nursing. I am determined to pursue my education at Prairie View A&M University to major in nursing. I was raised by a single mother who was responsible for providing for her four children, so I was exposed to the sacrifices she had to make for our family. I learned the value of education and the significance of education from my mother, who had to give up her own aspirations to attend university because she had children at a young age.
In choosing to major in nursing, I am driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and contribute to the healthcare field. However, the financial burden of pursuing a bachelor's degree weighs heavily on my family. As the oldest child, I feel a responsibility to not only support my own educational initiatives but also to minimize some of the financial strain on my mother as she works tirelessly to provide for our family.
Receiving this scholarship would not only ease the financial challenges that come with pursuing higher education but would also bring me closer to realizing my dream of obtaining a bachelor's degree in nursing. With this support, I will be able to focus on my studies and clinical practice without the constant worry of financial constraints, allowing me to excel in my academic journey and ultimately give back to my community through my future career in nursing.
