I am living my dream. As a child, my memories started in the kitchen with my nana from flipping pancakes to flour fights to then starting my business in that kitchen I have a passion for this field and have been living the dream at Northern Michigan University in the Hospitality Leadership program. When I was little, the only thing I talked about was the people I saw on the Food Network channel and how they got their start. As a child, the best memories I have are the kitchen perfecting cupcake recipes, or making sure my meringue had stiff enough peaks. through learning and growth at the age of 13, I started a business in the year 2020 and during that time my goal was to serve my community of small town Ishpeming Michigan I learned a lot from that experience, costing and budgeting, packaging, procurement and keeping a good report with audience.
During that part of my life, I was at my lowest and during that time I began to find myself again and found my passion again and I started living it. I got recognized by a local church and I began to serve them all sorts of goodies during that time I also took a trip to Paris France and while the others were looking at the sights I was taking in the cuisine and asking the staff questions and watched a woman in a French patisserie make croissants and in that moment it solidified what I wanted to do. I was accepted into Northern Michigan University's fall of 2024 and during that time I have learned so much and joined the American Culinary Federation Chapter in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As I have grown as a culinarian and a student I have found myself again with more passion than ever. With this scholarship, I will be able to continue to chase my dreams of becoming a Pastry chef on cruise ships grow to my fullest self, and show people that a girl from a small town can do more than they ever thought. With this opportunity, I would be able to grow as a person, chef, and student. I strive for greatness in the kitchen and the classroom I have withheld a high GPA while in college and in high school while also thriving and growing in the kitchen. With going to a small college I want to help promote the program in my future because they are why I am the way I am.
