Ezekiel Markin Scholarship What quality of Characteristic and quality I value in myself and Why? How do you feel having this quality; Will it help in your lifelong journey in society? What I value in myself is that I am very analytical and methodical. In everything I do, I always think very accurate about my life people think it’s terrifying! I feel like I can see through a brick wall. I get this statement every time from people, that I am very analytical. I believe that this mentality is a blessing from God because if you are not analytical. You can’t see through people's true nature. Being analytical, can protect you from the outside world. Being methodical makes you plan your time accordingly and accurately. "Always try to stay methodical and logical with everything, playing cricket and making decisions."(Morgan) I believe; without this mentality personally, you won’t survive in the economy. Without being methodical or analytical your world will alter "the greatest invention of mankind is a compound interest”. (Einstein) Methodical people are very precise; time will always be of the essence. The time is now, to act not later; now! I act very analytical; I look at my surroundings, I check if I am in the right scenery. Then I act as such. As being a methodical person, I know who I am; and what I am. "Education is the methodical creation of the habit of thinking"(Dimnent). With thinking I am able to discern from the reality from the fake. The best thing about being analytical you can tell the difference, between a fraud and a legit person. You can’t get scammed or manipulated. "No, I never thought about my image. It interests me that there are people who do, that they seem to be methodical about it"(Alda). I am so into myself, to where you would think that read minds. Then there’s me being analytical I could tell if I am in a good area or a bad area. I find it a blessing; that I am more aware; then most people. Because a lot of people die or get captured for not being analytical or methodical in bad areas. Sometimes I don’t know my own strength; when I think methodical and analytical." Never discourage anyone who continually make progress no matter how slow"(Platos). I thought maybe it was the ways I was brought up. But no, it was a form of discipline; that was instilled into me by my father. He is my rock my shield my provider. He is the biggest methodical analytical person I know; "Be very strong... be very methodical in your life if you want to be a champion"(Juantorena). Those words sit in my soul… pertaining to me being a methodical analytical person. I know that sometimes, I can over run people’s minds being analytical or methodical. But it is because I care too much. Nor am I disturbing you own serenity; or peace of mind. "lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being"(Platos). Personally, from my own perspective being analytical and methodical can make you really compare about the economy. Conclusively, I do value the most in myself; I do believe that being methodical and analytical. Can take you to higher heights if you truly believe in yourself. It all depends on how serious are you willing to make that jump. Thumbs up if you achieve; because..... "I did!" Like how Platos stated, " make progress no matter how slow". Invest in your time methodically and analytically and you will be a star!

Ezekiel Markin Scholarship What does recovery mean to me? It is standing up against all odds, when you know when you are at you wits end. Recovery is a serious form of self-notation. What you put in is what you will get out of it. If you believe that you are insane; then you are insane. If you believe you made it to the finish line; then you are the captain. If you can look at yourself in the mirror and make a conscious decision. To make a change in your life, then the change will come. It all depends on how you feel about yourself. An how it affects your mind, body and soul. Road to recovery starts; when you the person knows when it is time. To stand up and take a stand for what is right. Every step you take must be very methodical; and critical. It should be as if it is your very last step that your are taking in life. The best way to the road of recovery, is family support. If your family is on your side; there is nothing that you cannot do. Don’t be in a rush take your time believe in yourself. You will accomplish your mission if your put your mind to it. Remember the rabbit and the hare; the rabbit was fast, but the hare was slow. In the end both made it to the finish line.

Ezekiel Markin Scholarship What should you know about me; why I want to pursue higher education? What is my primary goal to impact my community and my culture? My name is Ezekiel Markin, my father is from Ghana he is a pure breed African, born and raised in Cape Coast and Tema. My mother is from Jamaica, yet my mother is also half. Her father is from Panama; and her mother is from Jamaica. My mother was raised, in Kingston. I am a bilingual child with two different backgrounds; with two different understandings. I am well versatile in a lot of things that I do. On one side I know nothing but the pure pride of West Indian culture. An on the other side; I am drenched in the West African culture. I was taught to have a high sense of understanding. An always taught to put God First in everything I do. Whether I am at my highest point; or my lowest point. God comes first. Most of my life I grew up with my father an I was taught both cultures of my family. Unfortunately, my mother is not well so I was taught to keep her in high prayers. With great diligence and great responsibility, I decided to pursue higher education in the field of Fine Arts. Why I pursued higher education; in the fine arts? I needed to find my true calling in society. An what was my purpose, I wanted to know if it was journalizing. The indigenous people of Africa which is communications. Or was it to sell and manufacture all forms of African Art Which you may call sculpting. When there is a will, there is a way; I learned that I am good at both. So I decided, to channel all of my energy into these two fields. I am a Communication Media Film major. Who minors in the Fine Arts program. I knew I was destined for something bigger and greater. Ever since I was young I knew I had a gift in these fields . An it was up to me to use stay focused and use my gift wisely. How do I intend to affect my community with my majors? My horizon is very broad; and it is limitless. I was exposed to the world of the unknown by my father. He is my arm and my shield, we are two peas in a can. There is nothing I do not do without contacting my dad. There are so many possibilities in Africa its mind boggling! He always tells me there’s nothing that I can do if I put my mind to it. I learned that both of my majors go hand in hand together. Not only I can sell and manufacture African art I can journalize the indigenous people in the rainforest. The pay is great, and the experience and knowledge I learn from communicating. With the indigenous nomads; is beyond anything I could comprehend or imagine. Only one can imagine; if I continue in this field of work the possibilities, I have is mindless. With great diligence and great responsibility, I have found my true calling. Why pursuing of higher education is important to me? Pursuing higher education is important to me, because if you know you true calling. You can make things happen for yourself; you can broaden your spectrum your horizon is limitless.

Ezekiel Markin Scholarship Essay How does my everyday world inspire me as an artist? Society has so many things to offer in this lifetime; there are too many things to count. So many things inspire me in the world; from the Asante Art of Ghanaian people; to the Sistine Chapel in Italy. There is a saying that “Genius is eternal patience” (Buonarroti). If you have eternal peace, there are so many things you can accomplish in this world. If you take bold productive steps, you can meet those critical junctures and form your own conclusive thesis about society. When I came to my own analysis about Asante art and how it affects me; it brings me great joy and pleasure. To not only have the understanding, to wield and craft the art. But to market it and sell it for business and miscellaneous purposes. The Asante art brings out the pride, of not only my race which is Ghanaian but the spirit of one’s true nature. I have traveled to so many parts of Ghana. I have learned a lot from the culture and what it brings me. It brings me great joy, and pleasure that society can teach me the truth about the Asante culture When I take a critical look at Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel piece, I see an eternal form of restoration. It brings a sense of eternal peace within my own self. It brings out a sense of comfort not from an arts perspective; but from my own religious faith. It shows the pride and the love of my savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth. From the decorative ceilings to the drawing of Adam fingertips touching God his work moves me so much. Conclusively, the everyday world will continue to inspire me forever.
