My name is Emily Vulcano, and I am looking for scholarship opportunities to help fund my ambitious educational goals. As an older student (31 years old), I have spent years gaining professional work experience and learning where my passions are. I have always held supporting adolescents and young adults at the center of my heart, which is what led me to pursue a master's degree in both school psychology and social work. I am building a career dedicated to destigmatizing mental illness and normalizing therapy. My professional goal is to be a therapist for adolescents and young adults living with mental illness and trauma and help them take control of their lives and find relief and happiness. To keep my mind and body healthy, I spend time in the beautiful Colorado nature: hiking, camping, kayaking, and skiing - to name a few. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and playing guitar. Travel has been a big part of my life and I have had the privilege of visiting numerous other countries and plan to continue when I finish school. My adventure bucket list includes hikes in the Alps and Dolomites!
